Got a couple of the `wheat bags` that you warm in the microwave & great as `hot water bottle ` type warmers.....I put in the bed to warm through & they stay warm all night!!!!
Just put heating on tonight but now regretting it!!!! ( I`m on oil but at least I have already paid up front!!).

It's the dust that's a problem for him, which is why he doesn't want me to get more throws.
Hi Ames, ordinary bed blankets are about the worse things for allergy sufferers as the woven texture harbours dust and dust mite and possibly not doing him any good at all. Still reckon a Lidl cosy fleecy 'blanket' would be great for you both.
Good luck.

I agree with Sue
I am an asthmatic that is allergic to fur and dust and am OK with Lidl/IKEA etc synthetic throws. Just wash whenever you have room in your machine. Bed blankets have me close to death (slight exaggeration) in seconds but microfibre or polyester fibre are fine. ANYTHING is better than wool or feather for me and I have an absolutely classic asthmatic animal allergy.£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

Heating on yet? You gotta be kiddin'. Last year we had the heating on 6 hours in total before Christmas. This year we might hold out and just treat ourselves for an hour on Christmas Day, well maybe not a whole hour. I do have to admit though that our LCD tv puts some heat out and the laptops on our knees warm us not to mention our 2 cats and one dog who tend to sit on or near us. Must confess to putting the electric blanket on last night but it was on the economy 7. If all fails I might forget my carbon footprint and hotfoot it down under and stay with my friend in Australia for the duration lol Just kiddin but boy nice thought. :rolleyes:0

Is your son called Tiny Tim?A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0 -
Very funny. No Tiny Tim, and his siblings, left home some time ago and lives in a house where he foolishly has the themostat set at 25 and gets huge bills so that Mum and Dad have to bail him out. Figure last year was quite mild really and we have a thermometer in the living room and put the heating on when it goes down to 19 degrees C. Last winter we were doing crunching (distributive computing to help valuable scientific research) on our computer in the living room so that it was on 24/7 putting out a lot of heat. When bills shot up as a result we started turning it off when we were not using it ourselves so I think this year the central heating will need to be on more than last winter. The 100% wool arran jumpers I made a couple of years ago help us keep warm - cost an arm and a leg to make but should repay their cost soom enough.:A Big pots of hot homemade soup help too.0

Why not advise him to turn it down as your pockets don't hold an endless supply of readies? Blowed if I'd bail our young ones out, they know they have to pay their own bills and be responsible.
