My heating at home goes on when I get up and off when I go to work.

Time it to come on for 30mins before you get up, then to turn off when you do wake up, it'll do the job just as well, the house will be toasty by the time you get up and as you become active in the morning the slow drop in temperature after it turns off won't be noticed.

Unless of course you go from Bed to Front door in less than 30 minutes.
  • It was colder last night, but still not putting the heating on.

  • Was VERY tempted to put the heating on last night, as it was very cold..... but I resisted, and its a good job, because the maintenance guy has just come round and taken all the windows out to re-varnish them!

We've just had a shower of hailstones. It's also very windy - my garden furniture is no more!

Thanks for that. I've currently got a duvet there that doesn't affect him, but I'm thinking once we get into the depths of cold that'll need to go on the bed. I just need to figure out which blankets I've got set off his allergies and just use the others where he is.

I would have thought it was more likely to be the ones with wool, or very fluffy ones that might shed fibres. Would microfibre ones be OK? I don't see why a blanket would be different from clothes, so if he's OK with a fleece/jumper, wouldn't the same fabric be OK for the throw. Or maybe its because blankets don't tend to get washed as often, so they are more likely to be dusty?

Almost put it on this morning as I've been feeling the cold this week, but instead wrapped up with a blanket and hot water bottle and am ok again now!

    Brrrr!

It's 16 degrees in my sitting room right now and I'm feeling quite cold so I'm off to reorganise my layers and maybe put some more on!

I'm off today and doing lots of listing on eBay in between hanging out loads of washing so I'm sitting at the computer most of the time rather than moving around.

I'm also going to make another cuppa as this one seems to have got vold in about ten minutes flat!

    But at least it's sunny!

I hope it's warmer where you are,
