it is soooooooooooooo cold today isn't it? or is it just me? but I have still managed to not put the heating on, although tbh it would have gone on the other day if we didn't notice the boiler was leaking when we put it on!!! so we can't put it on anyway until it is fixed tomorrow
kids are complaining of being cold though, so I'm making them wear their vests and dressing gowns, am I cruel?
the worst time is when you have had a bath or shower, it is sooooo cold when you get outAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -

Yesterday it was 11C outside - a howling gale and driving rain. It felt baltic! This morning when I took my daughter to school it was 6.5C and the sun was shining and there was a slight breeze, but I didn't feel cold indoors at all.0

There is one benefit to working crazy hours... you get to absorb the heating at work and save a few pennies at home but I have to admit, it's been quite cold the last couple of days... even worse when there is wind.Smile more often, it's FREE :hello: Live on £4000 for a year stalker!0

I've put my halogen heater on tonight, I'm going to get some big woolly throws from Primark though so hopefully I can last out a bit longer.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

mine's still not on....
Are halogen heaters cheap to run? I understand that the gas fire is about as expensive as the central heating - so that's not happening, but it would be useful to be able to use the halogen thing just now and then.
Oh.. and I found a cheap, huge slow cooker in the auction this week, so have bunged a load of veg in there tonight too (I'm vegetarian-anyone got any tips?). No idea how it will turn out, but at least it will be warm...
Cheers

I am still holding out on the heating, I have decided that on cold nights I should cook up big batches of food - my kitchen is semi open onto my lounge and it warms it up a treat, then it filters out to the rest of my not very large flat.
I am toasty with no heating - thank goodness (even if everything now smells of chilli)£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)
