I really want to as well - it's a bit blimmin' nippy!!!
But my hubby will rip it out of me if I do, so I will struggle on dressed like the flippin' Michelin man until HE caves in. Mwahahahahaha!

Certainly I'm beginning to feel the temperature going down here in Sussex by the sea - but I'm not giving in yet - hopefully not until November. Thing is I'm always fairly warm but my family keep giving big hints about how cold it is . Haven't even needed big fluffy dressing gown yet......0

It's the dust that's a problem for him, which is why he doesn't want me to get more throws.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

I promised myself that 1st Novemebr would be crunch date for the central heating but I must admit to putting it on this morning for 1 hour and I did turn off ALL the radiators except my bedroom and the bathroom. I have a little bit of a cold at them moment and although I'm trying to save money big time - there's no point prolonging the misery of a cold if you don't have to.
Going away for the weekend so it's off again now!
I walk around my house fully clothed but wearing my bath robe - very snug!

Hiya sweetie, :hello:
I have asthma and hayfever and I'm allergic to dustmites so I just wash my throws a lot - the fleecy ones can usually be done at reasonably high temps and dry quite quickly. I have a quilt / eiderdown thingie which can go in a hot wash (60 degrees) amd comes out almost dry so that's fab but it's made of noisy fabric which can be irritating if you fidget as you watch TV)
There's obviously lost of dust and dust mites in the sofa and of course any soft furnishings and so I wash my curtains and covers more than most people.
i really want a steamer so i can kill the little blighters in situ!
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I sympathise with your OH and a bit of trial and error will hopefully solve the prob.

I put the thermostat on 15 degrees and the heating has just come on! I must admit I'm sitting here with a fleecy blanket around me. Madness to think a week ago I was in Southampton in an outdoor swimming pool on a cruise ship, it must have been about 24 degrees!
I'm going to leave the 'stat on 15 degs for a while so it just comes on to take the edge off, but I have put spare blankets on the kids bed just in case and the bedsocks have come out of summer hibernation. I can see us having a lot of "duvet days" over the next few months.0 -
I gave in last night....had been out to speedway and got frozen to the bone so when we came home, I whacked the heating on for an hour.
It's not been on since even though I am sitting here getting colder and colder! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I don't know about your peeps. When I had CH, it took about an hour to start to feel warm?0

No, I live in a flat, and it takes about 10 mins for me to feel it. I have been making a real effort though recently as I really feel the cold and normally just whack it on when I feel like it, but with the price increases...and this thread....last couple of nights, I did feel a little chilly so I got the duvet from the bedroom and snuggled under it on the couch and didn't put it on all evening. That is good for me, honest, if you knew me!A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0
