I am toasty with no heating - thank goodness (even if everything now smells of chilli)'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0 -
Well I'm nice and warm tonight thanks to the new fleece throw I picked up today for the grand price of £1.77
Not the thickest throw in the world but certainly good enough to keep the chill off, and due to the low price I got 2 so can always double up if necessary0 -
I have all my cheap IKEA and PRIMARK throws from whenI have gone to festivals and not been able to find the ones from the year before, I have GOT to find them ready for when the cooking runs out.
Sarah - with you on the washingmachine but I would have to push it back on a Saturday night for Strictly Come Dancing :embarassed:£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

I think halogen heaters are cheaper to run. My heating's storage heating blown air things. I have to heat the main unit up during the night then use the electric fan to blow hot air all round the flat. I can't choose which rooms to use it in, so for me a halogen heater has to be cheaper than all that electric being used.
OH says I'm not allowed extra throws because they'll 'set his allergies off' and I've already got a few blankets. Boo.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

I have allergies, but look out for one of the lovely, cuddly blankets in Lidl, they're brilliant and don't affect allergies. Or, how about using a sleeping bag to act as a throw, no allergies with one of them so long as it's clean.

Still holding out - but me and the kids have a boiling hot bath early evening and that sees us through until bed time. :j If I do find it getting a little chilly once the kids have gone to bed, I either go to bed myself and watch tv or I have a lovely furry throw in the front room which I wrap around myself.
Trying to hold out for as long as possible - does anyone have a date in mind that they are trying to achieve? Mine at the moment is next payday which is 23 October:eek:When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:0 -
Just started putting it on for 10 mins each morning when I get up to take the chill off the house.November NSD's - 70

I have had mine on for about 20 mins on a couple of mornings, probably a waste of time really as its not long enough to heat up anything really, but I am still on a cheap fixed rate tarrif untill November when the price will rocket, so I thought I would use some of the 'cheap stuff' when I can, shame I can't bottle it :rotfl:
I won't be fixing when my old tarriff ends because I am hoping prices will come down, as oil has, but it is a bit of a rip-off market as gas prices are still high. They should come down due to world recession but the crooks rigging the market will keep them as high as they can, maybe untill next spring.
Roll on global warming, it's the best thing since sliced bread!!:rotfl:0 -

Thanks for that. I've currently got a duvet there that doesn't affect him, but I'm thinking once we get into the depths of cold that'll need to go on the bed. I just need to figure out which blankets I've got set off his allergies and just use the others where he is.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
