Thanks Book, do you know if they check internally first?
If Barclay's Manager comes on, could he help with this!
    Thanks

If we have written debt off as a result of business with you in the past, we will likely decline to do business with you in the future.

For five years, we likely still hold a record of you, yes. Of course, I cannot give you a definite answer - only way to find out is to apply.

Thanks for reply, think I will leave it for another year, I do have an account with Yorkshire Bank, but since moving home, their branch is quite a few miles away.
Do banks delete data of past customers after 6 years like the credit reference agencies do?

Whilst we previously did keep stuff for six years and six years alone, a disposal hold order was enacted by our CEO, John Varley in 2007 - so everything will be kept, both paper and electronic, until he decides otherwise.

The only way you're ever going to be sure is to just apply, I'm afraid.

Oh dear, again thanks for your input.
  • Can I just ask
I applied for a cash card account and ticked the connect card box
I have a bad credit rating.
Will I get the connect card?
If so will I be limited in where I can use it like I am with my current visa electron card that I have with the Halifax or will I be able to use it wherever the visa sign is displayed?
    Thanks

You will get the card, as it's not credit scored. The whole account isn't even credit scored too. The card is a VISA debit, not Electron.

I did it via mail (I took my application form into a branch with ID that they photocopied and they sent it via internal mail)
This was last Tuesday so nearly a week ago
Any idea when I might hear back?

According to this post, it takes 3-4 weeks to get processed, as this account is in demand. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=20167515&postcount=784

It's surprising that this acount is in demand, due to the introduction of a VISA debit card.
  • I have gone back to my maiden name (which is on my ID passport and utility bill)
However on the voters roll I am under my married name.
    Will this affect things?
I half own my house alongside my mum so might they look at that as that is in my maiden name?
