I have gone back to my maiden name (which is on my ID passport and utility bill)
However on the voters roll I am under my married name.
    Will this affect things?
I half own my house alongside my mum so might they look at that as that is in my maiden name?

Not sure though. I guess you could call them on 0500 007 234, or go to your branch and ask. Or they could actually think the person on the voters roll is someone else living at that address. If they do think that, I think it doesn't matter, as long as you have your ID and adress documentation stating your name and address mentioned on your application form, and they match. Being on the voters roll is optional for this account.

No. There should be no problem with this at all.

Can anyone tell me what employment and income questions are asked for Barclays cash card account. Reason I ask is that due to the current climate I am only part time, some weeks working just 4 hours and some weeks 30 hours. I have absolutely no idea how much I will be earning. Most accounts I see want employment details, income details before and after tax and current outgoings. Is barclays cash card the same.

Just give a rough estimate, that's fine. We're not going to call you back in because your income isn't the same as what you told us originally.

    What BarclaysManager said above.

Also, they won't call up your employers for proof. Barclays will believe you. People tell the truth anyway no matter if checks are made to see if the proof of income is correct or not.

Accroding to the extra copy of the form, there's no need to put employment address. They just ask net income (including any benefits, pensions, etc...), employment status, and employment type.

Depends on how strict the PB's manager is, too. All Personal Bankers are still signed to the 2008 Sales Standards, which says that if someone requests a Cash Card account up front, they MUST be given the leaflet and sent away.

This couple with the fact that it's the same paperwork load as opening a regular account only without the same incentive... tends to put people off a bit.

Is that true? The PB in my branch opened the account there and then and also said that because I told her why I was opening the account (I am going bankrupt) she couldn't run through any borrowing options or anything - so it was very easy and straightforward.

I take it she wasn't meant to - in which case I love her even more!! :)

Don't ignore a problem. Unlike a bad smell, it won't eventually go away.

The old standard always used to be not to open in branch, but this seems to have been abandoned this year as we now pay the branch for them.

Then again, it was never a rule you'd get beaten up over, so maybe you just got a nice PB. :)

Given your apparent desire for taking things from the internet in to "real life", why would I ever want to give you any sort of personal detail about myself?

But to answer: "we" is in reference to Barclays and that I work for them. Anything beyond that is none of your business, and whether you choose to hold what I say as "crazy talk" is entirely your choice. :)
