But to answer: "we" is in reference to Barclays and that I work for them. Anything beyond that is none of your business, and whether you choose to hold what I say as "crazy talk" is entirely your choice.
Thanks it is crazy talk though what you speak, i like you for that. You keep strong behind that blue eagle'd badge and remember, your employer values you like each and everyone they will dispense with this year.0 -

I'm not sure what point you're trying to get at...GiraffeMan wrote: »Oh and I feel the same about the apparent other "big banks", its not personal
Oh wait, there you go. You have an irrational hatred of the banks. Well, alrighty then.
P.S. your second post makes no sense, since you tried some sort of... vague psychological attack? in your first post. What would William Shatner do?0 -

Thanks Book12
You will get the card, as it's not credit scored. The whole account isn't even credit scored too. The card is a VISA debit, not Electron.
I hope that is the case
I did it via mail (I took my application form into a branch with ID that they photocopied and they sent it via internal mail)
This was last Tuesday so nearly a week ago
Any idea when I might hear back?
Tanya
I posted an application on 16th March, the welcome pack with account details arrived today (connect card and pin to follow) so it took just over 2 weeks. (I am in the process of starting a DMP owing nearly £70k)0 -
I am still a little confused on a couple of things on the Barclays's cash card account. I understand the account is checked only via the voters roll and fraud checks, yet I've read a few posts; that say they were declined because they were bankrupt?
Now a voters check only, wouldn't show that information.
Can anyone throw any light on this.0 -

Yes it appears their new computer software that deals with applications in branch can turn people down if the bankrupt box is ticked. But if it's sent off, or appealed, it seems they have a different system which allows the account if you are an undischarged BR.
I opened one last week in readiness for my BR on Wednesday, so hopefully I will be able to keep it. I will keep you all posted...
Cheers

I made it through!Don't ignore a problem. Unlike a bad smell, it won't eventually go away.0 -

The system can return a false positive. The only reason we'd decline is fraud or serious write offs within the Barclays group - so you just need to ask to appeal the decision, and it can be over ridden. What would William Shatner do?0 -

It's optional to be on the voters roll...
You shouldn't get declined. Check your credit file.
Ask them to open the account on the 'old system' instead.0
