Ginger_Girl wrote: »DD2s teacher came up to me today with some concerns. Apparently she seems clumsy frequently tripping over - at carpet time she can't seem to sit down without sitting on someone (spatial problem) and has weak pencil control. Teacher wants to keep observing her but mentioned that she might ask the area SENCO to look at her when she's in next.
Am a bit worried now - she was only 4 at the end of July so is one of the youngest in Reception. I'll keep a diary of similar probs at home to see how she does.
Don't be worried just be delighted the staff at the school are vigilant enough to have noticed anything at all. It may just simply be she is a bit later than others at maturing IN THIS AREA... other things she may be one of the best at!!
Tiddles had her leg folded earlier so the sole of her foot was on her shoulder.. Why did I not notice her hypermobility before?? Am I blind? Or am I so used to having floppy children it is normal?LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Kazmeister speaking as a mum ... they watch tv/play on games whatever then when bedtime comes they haven't done their homework? I would send them to bed. If they go to school without their homework well.. maybe they will learn to prioritise ... you could always tell the teacher what you have done.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Ginger girl - my son was very clumsy until the beginning of this year (aged 7). He was forever falling over, walking into walls and people and we were quite worried. Hopefully it's just because she's young. In my son's case he was just too nosy to look at what he was doing!
I've washed the remote control unit for our television. It must have been in my hand when I did the washing. Was cleaning the fiddle box on the list for tomorrow? :rotfl: xx0 -
Things were put in perspective tonight. I went to my local tesco and a mum and dad were in tears at the door. I asked them if they were ok and they told me their son, aged 12, had just pushed himself up the ramp on his own in his wheelchair for the first time. They were so happy. Kind of brings you back to reality! xx
Too damned right Mudbath - that really does put things in total perspective!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Dusty - if DS3 has a lump but still has full movement (or close enough) I wouldn't worry too much. See how it is in the morning. If there was something broken he'd not be swinging on bars! When I cracked my radial head (part of the elbow joint) nothing would enduce me to move the flipping arm because it was so painful let alone swing on it!
Right, I'm off to bed. I'm definitely past my prime this evening!
Have a good night ladiesI am the leading lady in the movie of my life
