Pigpen - glad college was ok, hope OT was too
serena - pleased yesterday wasn't too bad for you
g&b - some people!! I turned into my road (one way) yesterday and nearly took out a cyclist speeding in the wrong direction
sarahshattered - hugs - appointments can be really draining
flybabybunting - my friend went through this a couple of months ago (baby was taken into hospital as she wasn't gaining weight) She added formula to the BF and it worked a treat
kazwookie - can't get Stardrops in Tesco here either, but Asda and Sainsbury's stock it
Am sure I've forgotten people so sorry! It takes ages to catch up after a day at work so am skimming some of the thread!
My dad is going into hospital for a hernia op tomorrow - he's nearly 74 and I'm bit worried! If you're that way inclined, could I please ask for your prayers? Thanks
Have done some random flying - washed up, wiped kitchen surfaces, made tomorrow's lunch and done a bit of ironing. Watching the footie now
My scars are itchy tonight - any ideas"There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers
"I'm feeling like a Monday but someday I'll be Saturday night" - Bon Jovi0 -
Evening everyone.
Have had a quick look at the thread but Im so tired nothing is going in. So hugs to everyone anyway. I knew work was going to be stressful today but I did remain calm even when I got whacked by a client.
Im night shift Friday then not back till night shift next Wednsday so plenty of time to catch up flying.0 -
Mudders DS3 goes at 8:08 as that is when sporticus goes - he is 6 and a half. If he is tired he goes in between 7:30 and 8:00 - like you if earlier he doesn't sleep. He gets up between 7 and 7:30, I don't need to wake him and it suits us.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

I do not have to go out again today now which is a huge releif. OH still not home from work.
DS3 fell and hurt his arm skating and has a rather larger (half a tennis ball) swelling just below his elbow. I'm hoping it is ok. He was still swinging on the railings on the way out. I didn't want to rush him to A&E and ours doesn't see kids at night anyhow you have to drive to the next town and there is no petrol in the car and with OH not being home I'm going to reassess in the morning. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Thanks dusty. I think i'll try 8 for DS and 8.30 for DD. Mind you, they're not brilliant at getting up in the morning so i'll have to see how it goes.
Froddington - i'll be sending positive vibes to your dad. Hugs to you too xx0 -
SarahShattered wrote: »Thanks for that honey, when I said "I think it's just that I have to go for apps that I don't have to with my "normal" children. IYSWIM?" what I meant really was, that with my other children, I stayed well away from clinics, they make me crazy, that's what I meant about not going to apps with my "normal" children. To me they're all "normal"- it's the health professionals that don't see her has "normal".
I don't have any issues about DD3's disabilities, she is who she is, and I think she's incredible. She knocks everyone's expectations off the scale. I love her so so much, she's bl**dy brilliant. But, given the choice I wouldn't go near a baby clinic, or child development centre etc etc. I do it obviously, whatever she needs, or will help her I'm going to do it. But the real issue is that if she didn't have a disability I wouldn't be going to these appointments.
It's like they're saying... 'just in case you'd forgotten... your daughter is disabled, here's half a dozen appointments just to keep your mind nice and focussed on it,' I don't need to think about her 'differences' and these appointments just make me think about them.
Does that make more sense? I was, and am always down in the dumps after going to see the paediatrician/ psychologist/whoever whoever. I just hate going!
I hope that doesn't feel like I've jumped down your throat.... that's really not my intention at all, I just would to think anyone thought I didn't think my girl was "normal"
Huge hugs to you ((((((hugs))))))
And yes, it does make sense-I figured it was what you were saying-but I was trying to get to that you shouldn't let the reminders get you down.
Gosh when I started this post I had a head full of things I wanted to say and now I cant think of any...its just that when I hear from mums like you Im in awe coz I know I wouldnt be who I am without the likes of you-tends to get me emotional...soz0 -
Next question....sorry, I know this isn't the parenting forum but what time do you put your 7 and a half year old or 9 year old to bed. I'm thinking I do it too early at 730 and 8 as they're often still awake an hour later. Thanks for your advice.
Mine go between 7-8pm.. when I get my ar$£ in gear TBH.. They are 12-3.5. The 14 year old at 9:30 and the 17 year old.. whenever.. would you want to wrestle him to bed??froddington wrote: »Pigpen - glad college was ok, hope OT was too
