MOJT Hugs to both of you-let us know how it goes.

DS just gone to sleep and I have scoffed TWO LARGE pieces of the cake I made yesterday:o
Lounge and bedroom are done and have started on the kitchen. Only, got sidetracked as I thought to make quiche lorraine for supper so I wanted to do the crust in the breadmaker-trouble is now I cant remember what I normally put in it.
So will carry on looking now and then get on with my recipe Index later on (maybe even tonight-but see, this is why I need it:rolleyes:).
Will also do a shopping list tonight as Ive decided I am going to enter the competition on sunday, have narrowed my choice down to two so will let tommorows shopping trip decide which one. And judging starts at 17H00 so I'll have the WHOLE WEEK END to faff:)

Has anyone has a relation die in a care home, who had been there long term, and then been told by the solicitor dealing with the Will, that only £19,000 will be passed on to the benefactors of the Will, as the DHSS will claim the rest, to cover care home fees??

I have been in touch with Age Concern who tell me to take legal advise, but it is the solicitor who is telling me this, and I want to know if he is correct, (as I have never heard of this) where else might I be able to get information from, I have searched the internet and found very little.

Has anyone any experience of this?

Sorry for the hijack, back to your list ladies:rotfl: :rotfl:

MOJT Poor little thing, hope she's ok and the wait isn't too bad x

Back from work which was a chore today - was on go-slow I blame the HHC ths morning it must have wiped me out :D Got back into car and realised the inside needs cleaning/hoovering ready for it's MOT tomorrow (don't want the guy thinking I don't care) and was gonna delegate that to teenie but he's not in from College yet, so will have to wait.

Got tea to sort, OH is having left over chicken dinner, littleys having a chicken curry that needs using and me/teenie/DD1 well, I've no idea  probs sausage & chips lol. Got to train tonight but not sure at what time seeing as OH is busy today, hope it's not too late cause I hate getting settled then having to go out and lift heavy weights for an hour.

Right, not sure what to do next........

Pigpen DS1 wants a rota for his chores, he needs regular not ad hoc things to get them done, I do wonder about him

I thought you meant my DS1 then lol.. Maybe he just wants to be organised and get them done BEFORE you get home so he can have more time to himself..

  • Afternoon ladies.

I am feeling like i have achieved something as i have done the 2 things on my list. beef strog is in the SC as we speak, and i watched 2 episodes of home and away, and one of ugly betty. I am giving up watching stuff on a night that has adverts in as you save 20 mins on an hour programme by skipping the ads.

I've also cleaned the washing line and got the towels washed earlier on the line for a bit - they might fully dry. And done all the washing up from breakie, lunch and dinner prep. The cats are fed and have taken a trip outside to sit in the Sun,

spendless that was how my days tend to go too so you are not alone

kazw no idea -what about citizens advice bureau. Our local surestart centre has a drop in session, do you have anything like that locally?

plans for the rest of the day:
    • make tea for boys
    • bath both boys
    • get towels in (TD if needed)
    • empty TD and fold stuff/get away
    • do birthday cake with DH and boys
    • put both boys in bed
    • cook pan of rice to go with stroganoff
    • wash my hair and pretty myself up a bit
    • read more of my library book
suppose i should start that by making myself a cuppa, and then getting ds1 up as he has been in bed since 1. Oh, and if i am doing that i could take a carrier up for the bathroom bin as there are nappies and cotton wool etc. just sat on the floor at the minute. Sounds a plan.
  • SS re jacket pots we have the following
    Beans and cheese on top
Or take the potatoe out, mix with cheese and sometime a bit of chopped up ham or bacon - back under to grill with salad on the side
Or make some cheese sauce with some leeks and put that on top again iwth salad.

Thanks Dusty for those suggestions. I've got some leeks in the fridge, so leeks cheese sauce and baked spuds it is. :j :j :j  :j :j :j

I'm     DD1 is with "friends" from school, and for some reason....hasn't got on the bus home yet!!!  She should have been on the bus by 3.15, it's 3.54 now   For goodness sake, all she has to do is a 2 min walk and jump on the (very frequent) bus. I've just phoned her, she said "I don't know why they don't want to get on the buses that are coming, and I'm scared to get on the bus by myself"

Honestly, it makes me so mad mad mad mad mad       . Why can't they just do what's required??????

Most solicitors do half hours free consultation.. might be worth booking a few of those (with different solicitors of course!)
