I have no time or pity for people who do drugs and as someone who drives for a living, even less for those who drive whilst on drugs or drink because it'll be most likely one of them that results in me not going home one day.
That aside, you're still a tit and about as rude and obnoxious as you can get.
And that's from me, who likes to speak his mind and tell people what he thinks. There's no need to be unpleasant to people just for the sake of it.
You're just plain nasty and rude, and you probably have a small winkler, which is why you suffer from SPS.0 -
Thank you everyone who posted. I agree no one should be on the road unless they are clean and legal, I have seen enough damage caused by road users to other human beings to last a life time and I don't condone idiot sons behaviour, it was reckless and stupid. That said, he has learned a lesson. In his defence he swerved to avoid a cat on a wet country lane on a dark November night which is how he hit the electricity pole. The lesson learned - hit the cat not the pole - and don't go out after a night in with the boys no matter how much grief you get from your girlfriend. Good lessons methinks. Again, thanks to everyone who posted.***************************************

Now I think that was unnecessary...

We had a customers sons car in the other day - he had clipped the kerb at 5 miles an hour......... that's what he told his dad.
Clipped kerb my ar5e. The damage done said it all. For one, the wheel was hanging off...........Genie

You're right Genie, drugs are not a good thing and if I could prevent him I would. Any ideas anyone?***************************************

Totally agree
One of my friends swerved to avoid a cat, well at least thats what the parents/police/insurers where told
He was actual driving like an idiot and tried to take a corner at 50 in the wet
Ill bet the accident was due to your sons stupidity and there wasnt a cat in sight0 -
I know he's an idiot, but he's working on it and I'm looking forward to the new improved version eventually.***************************************

If he is not earning... then he could get a job to pay off his fine/pole cost. You mentioned that he is a student, he should make an effort then to earn some money. You must somehow give him responsibility. I started with my two when they were alot younger and told them that their rooms were their own responsibility. If they wanted washing done, bring it down. If they wanted to live in a smelly room - their choice, I would shut the door.
They have turned out to be more tidy than me! And create washing, but as they do their own now, its not my problem.
Give him or encourage him to have something to aim for... however big or small. I find that the more you do for them, the less respect you get back.
Hopefully some young guys (or youngish guys) out there can guide you as well. I can only speak from a mothers point of view.
Tell him he will never drive again unless he gives up the drugs. Shame the authorities can't tell him that, he'd believe them more than he would you (due to him being a teenager etc).
Give him responsibility - tell him he is the adult and to deal with it.
Its not easy but it is the kindest route in the end.
Good luckGenie
