And yet you have such contempt for disabled drivers, how have they wronged you?

Have I? Where? Because I posted that someone who couldn't turn their head sufficiently enough to safely see if anything was approaching from the right when they were at a T junction perhaps shouldn't be driving?

How is that contempt? It's just stating the obvious.

Are you one of the PC brigade?

Give him responsibility - tell him he is the adult and to deal with it.

Its not easy but it is the kindest route in the end.

    Good luck

Agreed. Bailing him out isn't going to help him and you get into the habit of overlooking his transgressions as well. Maybe a short sharp shock at the hands of the legal system, albeit the civil rather than criminal, without mum and dad to bail him out might be sufficient to jolt him out of it.

No, that's not what I'm referring to, you have made comments that you don't think disabled people should be receiving the benefits they do and that they should be grateful for what they get because the don't work for it.

In addition you are constantly spouting nonsense about blue badge eligibility criteria, disabled people's incomes, the motability car scheme, etc.

Why is it that people seem to think your replies are helpful, yet when it comes to answering questions on these issues you continue to misinform people over and over again? What are the motives?

No, I say that if someone doesn't have the use of their legs but everything else is OK, there's no reason why they can't get appropriate work and I think it's disgusting that those capable of doing work use their disability as an excuse not to.

AS SOMEONE WHO IS DISABLED, I don't sit at home living off the state and I do a job which works around my disability. I know plenty of disabled people who do the same. However, I also know quite a few who get DLA and are capable of work but don't see why they should.

You ARE another of those PC muppets. I'd like to thank you and your ilk for the state this stinking country has ended up in and the taxes I'm forced to pay to provide a living to those who feel they're owed it because of political correctness. I bet you read The Daily Mail don't you?
  • Conor, you know nothing about me, I'm as far from a 'PC muppet' as you can get. How can you tell by meeting someone on a forum whether they are or aren't capable of work?

I agree there are far too many people claiming what they're not entitled to, but without knowing them a lot better I couldn't possibly make a judgement as to what people are entitled to, therefore I have to make the assumption that if someone has been awarded a benefit they are entitled to it.

Anyway, this is really getting off of the original topic, the point is you write offensive comments on this forum about people who you know nothing of other than a few words, it would just be nice if you thought before you started typing sometimes.

    Oh yes!!

I'm sick of paying taxes too for others to sit on their fat ar5es.

I'm wondering if I can afford to retire when I am due to retire.... like so many other hard working poor b*ggers... i'll be working til I drop no doubt, yet I have paid all my stamps, NI etc.. I don't owe anyone anything. Thanks to this site etc. I organise all my bills etc how they should be, I search and search for the best deals.... and I still will probably work til I am seven hundred and thirty nine or give or take a few months.

Bitter? No - just a tad fed up with the Nanny State..

    Ahhh............... feel better now............

    Drugs wreak lives, FACT.

Drug abuse is dealt with in the mental health section under the social & health services, so that should give you a clue as to how the experts think it impacts of peoples mental health.

    Alochol abuse wrecks lifes, "FACT".
However that doesn't mean that everyone who's ever drunk alcohol or regularly drinks is going to have their life wrecked.
Personally I have no interest in drugs due to concerns over long term health consequences, but just thought a bit of balance might help.

Both abuses wreck lives, but the thread was talking about drug driving & the post I was responding to was about drug taking.
