Sending Good Luck vibes to Poppyoscar OH.0 -
Morning Guys!
Kathy-Happy Birthday hun and have a great day.
I started feeling quite ill last night and not feeling much better this morning. So I have a quilt and pillows on the sofa as I cant seem to get warm. OH helped me have a shower and this didnt help much either. Its so damp here ATM that I think its just flared a few things. My friend phoned up last night and I ended up blubbing on the phone which isnt like me at all:o
Anyway, WM has been on and have used the TD and the DW will be going on in a minute. OH has put a lamb stew in with lamb, onion, carrot, swede, new pots, baked beans and a packet mix and its starting to smell lovely. Will add a few peas and dumplings later.
I have my helper coming in the morning so need to make a list of jobs I'd like doing. She is pretty good as she even peels the spuds and veg to save OH doing it. I am hoping she wont ask to bring the baby again though.
Sammy-You need to kick up a fuss! I know its not nice but nobody should be in pain, especially in a hospital-its just not ethical. You need to speak with the Ward Sister and make your complaint clear to her. She is the highest person you can talk to on the ward and her duty is to make sure that HER ward runs smoothly and without problems. I am concerned as the pain your OH describes isnt normal and needs to be checked urgently. Do not be fobbed off! If the pain is up the leg and in the groin area, I would ask them if it could be a blood clot. Even though they are trained medical persons it does NOT mean that they are always right. If you are not happy with anything they say...ask for a second oppinion....this is your OH's right. If you dont have any luck with the Ward Sister....cut out everyone else and ask for the office of the Director of the hospital as you wish to make a Formal complaint. Please dont do nothing. Hugs xx
Anyway, I had better go as I really need to rest.
Hugs to all

Morning all
Happy birthday Mioliere.
Hubby & I had a flat where the previous tenant had done a runner, the baliffs used to turn up at 5 in the morning in the hopes of catching someone in. Fortunately the previous Tenant was a 24 year old male, so they were always polite to me, some asked to see my tenency agreement, but all left without any real trouble.
It's THE CHRISTENING today & I'm going to spoil my pastel outfit by wearing a black coat as it's very chilly here & will be even colder in church.
Have a good day.
Hugs Hester

Thanks Penny Pincher, I have just spoken to DH. Seems that our constant complaining yesterday did something because he has seen the doctor 3 times now!
She actually didn't know what was causing the pain but checked it and it definately wasn't spreading infection or blood clot and she said definately not anything to worry about
DH then bumped into a matron in the corridor who immediately stopped him and said "I see you have cellulitus". DH said he thought she was just being polite but asked her about the pain he was having. She asked him to describe the pain and she said it was perfectly normal to have this sort of pain with the illness he had!
He is now feeling great and says the pain is a bit better (think the stress and worry was making it worse).
Why couldn't someone else have told him this
BRING BACK MATRONS ON THE WARD, that's what I say.
Anyway, feeling slightly better now, but as you advised have been noting down everything and will be making an official complaint.:)Do more of what makes you happy:)0 -
Kathy - happy bidet! :bdaycake:
Squiggly - :grouphug:
Sammy - gentle hug for OH and robust hug for you. I agree, get hold of PALS, or at least make it clear to the nurses that you are considering that route.
wmf - hugs for you. I have the in-laws from hell. MIL is banned from my house now, but the first time I even met her was when I came home from work to find her turning out the wardrobe and drawers in my bedroom. She reckoned she was 'just trying to help' but I know what you mean about feeling violated. At least they are staying away from the house this time, but I am thinking of you. Stay strong :grouphug:
donny-gal: I do have an 'avon' email address now for people to order! My friend is a nursing temp and works a lot of sites and care homes. She asked if people at the sites would be interested in ordering and they thought it was a great idea 'cos they all work such funny hours! I don't think it'll be so useful on my actual round, most of it is very ancient people in pensioner bungalows. They are quite distrustful so far as the last five or six people to work the territory got the boot after one or two books. Thanks for the thought though, ideas like this are great, so please keep them coming! The avon thread is good, but it's not the same as the customer (or prospective customer) viewpoint!
VickyA and Triggles - step-by-step on how to deal with this problem coming up.
JackieO - wow, that's amazing! My Dad found his long-lost family last year. His mother died when he was tiny and when my granddad remarried he cut all ties (I'm told that's what they did in those days) He was slightly amazed that it was important to them too, he thought if he ever found them they'd be like: big deal, a cousin we've not met. As it happens they had been looking for him too! He put an ad on Genes Reunited and within a day he had an email from one of his cousins, saying she thought she was his mother's neice and that her sister, who was named for his mum, was sat next to her! They've become great friends since then and some of them even came along to my granddad's funeral just to give my dad some moral support! All the best of luck meeting up :grouphug:
Massive hugs for all who need or want one :grouphug:
Have a good day all!

Morning all.
Well, not as much rain as was forecast and at least we were spared the possible flooding. We're up a slope so would have been ok but last year the middle of the town was awash.
Today I just must clear the clutter that seems to be multiplying on my desk.....stuff I brought back from mums that needs sorting out............beginning to wish I'd done it yesterday...........oh well.............
Have a good day and hugs (((((((((((:o )))))))) to those who need themMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

For VickyA, Triggles, Hester and anyone else whose had this problem.
1) It's not illegal to open someone else's mail, if it is delivered to you and has your address on it. So by all means open it - it's the only chance you have of making the problem go away.
2) Even if you know where the old resident has gone, you have no obligation to tell the creditor - in fact, it is legally iffy to do so.
2) Write to the debt agency or whoever:
Dear whoever
Regarding your letter dated xxxxx and addressed to xxxxxxxxxx (your ref: xxxxxxxx)
I can confirm that no person of that name lives at that address. Please remove any links you have made between this person and my address, and cease all communication via this address immediately.
I respectfully remind you that it is unlawful under OFT guidelines to pursue third parties for debt when they are not liable, to disclose debt details to a third party, or to risk disclosure of debts to third parties through lack of care.
If you continue to pursue this debt at this address I will therefore have no option but to report your activities to both trading standards and the OFT, making clear that I believe your actions prove you unfit to hold a consumer credit license. Furthermore, I will consider your actions to be harrassment and may pursue legal action against yourself under Section 40(1) of the Administration of Justice Act.
Yours...
Send that. I guarantee you'll never hear another peep! If someone did continue to write, or turned up on the doorstep, they would be putting themselves at risk of some extremely stiff penalties, and you could also win damages from them if you took them to court.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for all the Happy Birthdays! I am having a lovely lazy morning. I've just been on the phone to my Mum to thank her for her pressies and for having me! She said it was a pleasure - painful, but a pleasure! I've also phoned DS1 to wish him a Happy Birthday, too, even though we are seeing them all this afternoon.
PenPin - I hope you start feeling better soon; you are going through such a lot - I don't know how you cope.
RedRuby - such lovely words, thank you so much.
Well, DH went off muttering that he can't believe he's living with someone so old (he's five years younger than me!) so I always get this on my birthday! I tell him 'I'm as old as the man I'm feeling' which usually shuts him up.
Hester - Have a great christening; I'm sure you'll look lovely. We'd love to see some photos!
Sammy - thinking about you and your OH today. I quite agree with you about bringing Matrons back to hospital but they need to be the old-fashioned sort!
WMF - that's such a horrid feeling thinking someone's been in your personal space.
Well, I'm going to make another cup of coffee. It's cold here so I put the heating on for an hour this morning as a birthday treat.
Anyway, I'm off - see you later and thanks again for all your birthday wishes. You are all such good friends - life wouldn't be the same without you.

To those who are getting the previous occupiers mail, I write on the front....not known at this address, left (insert month and year) if I have an address, I also write that on the envelope....try...(insert address)
If there is no return address, I open the letter and either phone or write to explain.
When we moved into our house, there was a huge pile of letters behind the door, and we had mail for over 40 people
You may eventually get a letter addressed to The Occupier asking for info and often companies will send a letter every 6 or 12 months as a fishing expedition.
Sammy, I'm pleased your OH is sounding more positive.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
