    Hi everyone

I have received a letter (by post) stating 'Your Maeva residence is just waiting for you' which claims that there is a studio for 4 people made available to me for a fortnight at the end of September. Now, call me cynical if you like, but this seems too good to be true as it will cost me nothing (quoted price is 579.98 Euros). Has anyone else received anything like this? It does not mention that I have won a competition which makes me very suspicious!! Can anyone help please.
    Thanks in anticipation

    I think it's timeshare

Found "Do you wish to obtain information on time-shares with Maeva? Check out its advantages..."

It does sound like just a sales pitch/time share rather than a comp win. Will probably end up costing more than it states with various fees being asked for along the way etc. Perhaps look into it abit more but be careful.

Thank you lilas, I had googled the company but did not find any connection to time-share. It is as I suspected so will not respond to the letter.
    Thanks again

Ok, I know enough is said about this subject, but in my honest opinion, there should be a poll regarding any decision. Board Guides should probably have power of banning those who intentionally and frequently mess up or act in any other negative way (break any rules). In the end of the day, this is an online community and not merely a technical tool, and while technical intervention is very welcome, social moderation is equally, if not more, important. but this is only my opinion.

I think it was up to the BGs. It appears when reading back through the board as I've been catching up with comps, that many chances were given to members to abide by the guidelines on the ending thread.

I am just so glad the new expiry format is working. I remember that way being discussed in the spring and no-one seemed to think that people would use it consistently.

Much easier now the power to display dates, any expiry dates is up to us.

People missing the lists may want to think how exactly how much time it took the members who complied the lists to find the information every day.
My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)

Our Precious Baby Tianna has now joined our Family, she is much loved and very welcome, xxx

    Good morning
I have been dipping in and out of this debate re competition ending lists. When I first stumbled upon this site (approx three months ago), a list of comps ending was published daily, and I found it extremely helpful. When they were withdrawn I suffered withdrawal symptoms and panicked!! and thought my comping days were over. However, now, I have recovered and (following the directions on this site), I am able to enter comps as and when I want. This has been liberating as I no longer have to rely on anyone else. When I want to enter comps, I can do so without waiting for a list!

Just to add my thoughts to the debate, I don’t think we should categorise competitions into ‘cars’, ‘holidays’ etc as this is a sharing community for individuals who love and enjoy entering competitions. It is not a site intended for those who only want to enter specific comps without a thought for others within the community.

I think this site is brilliant (although the search feature, for duplicates, does let me down approximately 5% of the time). I have found those of you that are 'regulars' helpful and polite. It is a privilege to be part of this community. Thank you to the site (I am not aware how it originated), to everyone who post comps or provide comments and/or advice, and to those who give their time, freely, to act as BGs. :T :T :T

Thank you very much! I am forever addicted

OK Compers, I need some help please :)

I saw another comper asking in a thread how to make their browser chose their correct email client when they clicked onto an email link. I know how to do it in IE (Explorer) but was wondering if anyone knew how to do it in Firefox (couldn't find it in there) or Safari (I don't have that)?

The route in IE is: click on Tools > Internet Options - You should then have a pop up box appear.
Goto the 'Programs' tab, then 2nd down in the list it mentions 'E-mail' - this is where I have Microsoft Office Outlook selected but you can select Windows Live Mail from the drop down to select this instead (Then you would need to click onto Apply for it to save the changes)

Anyone have any clues for Firefox or Safari please? Then I can add this to the Comping Guide

    Thanks for any help!
