All we can do stargirl is keep pointing them to the thread that diva stickied explaining How To Find Competitions Ending By Date. It clearly tells compers in there that the comps ending lists are gone & why.
I hear what you are saying, however, I wouldn't like to pass comment about Compers trying to stir it up as I like to believe the best in others. Also, give it a little more time as some may have been on holiday when this happened & are truly a bit bewildered & have missed the sticky from diva.
I swear that stickies sometimes manage to camouflage themselves at the top of the page & become invisible
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out0 -

Now there's a conspiracy theory!
In actual fact, it was just that the comps ending threads were incredibly useful for 'casual' browsers like myself and many others.
I still don't quite understand why they were pulled, despite reading through the whole of this thread now.
I gather it's something to do with a group of older members deciding it was somehow immoral to be too "lazy" to look up the competitions yourself, rather than have them laid out conveniently in one post, categorized by type. Forum politics, eh? How sad.poppy100 -
50+Two weeks is very early days for the threads to be gone imo so it's understandable that people keep asking as they were very popular and not everyone checks the compers onn/comp discussion thread etc, it'll settle out in the weeks to come. The last i heard, we were waiting on a final 'meeting' to decide the fate of the threads. Did that happen already then cuz it seems to have been finally decided?0

50+poppy u have that totally wrong, when the ending threads started it was by a pregnant mser who used to do them to get her through a difficult stage in her pregnancy,
others joined in too help and it ended up with 5 or 6 different end dates floating around the board, that was around january this year.
The threads got pulled by bg's because of the mess on the board and accidentally people got confused and done each others days and rows ensued.
they went and after lobbying bg's brung them back with a break the rules and they are gone ultimatum, the rules were they had to be posted very late evening or the morning of the day before end date, no bickering, we had to work out dates and who was doing what between us.
That didnt work as there were many rows and many people that done the list pulled out because of the trouble , myself included.
hence where we are now xxxxxx
Kitty im sure diva has put that in her sticky xxx http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1140443#JusticeForGrenfell0 -

50+Ok, I know enough is said about this subject, but in my honest opinion, there should be a poll regarding any decision. Board Guides should probably have power of banning those who intentionally and frequently mess up or act in any other negative way (break any rules). In the end of the day, this is an online community and not merely a technical tool, and while technical intervention is very welcome, social moderation is equally, if not more, important. but this is only my opinion.0

It's all in diva's thread which I mentioned a couple of posts back - they have been stopped & that is probably why diva spent over 5 hours on a Sunday a little while back sorting out every single E: date so that the threads could be ordered & Compers could see for themselves the comps which were ending on particular datesVelvetGlove wrote: »All we can do stargirl is keep pointing them to the thread that diva stickied explaining How To Find Competitions Ending By Date. 50+Thanks for pointing that out, i havn't checked that thread before because I am up to date with the comps and comp daily so I don't need to search by end date but i'm still interested in finding out what goes on etc. I have been keeping up with discussions about it, just i was waiting on some sort of official announcement which I thought would be specifically titled and not explained in another post etc. And it was very kind of divadee to spend her time sorting out the boards to help with the new searches.
I personally don't understand why people get angry about this, this is the competition discussion thread, if people don't want to re-discuss things then fine but those that do should be left to get on with it. Of course if people are very rude in asking about the comps thread then we can't be expected to be all lovey dovey back but when someone asks politely i feel they should be responded to in the same way and not be made to feel bad for asking questions, which is what seemed to have prompted Andrea's 'plz be nice' post0 -

A poll was suggested, but the fact was that many who used the comps ending were guests/lurkers/newbies who wouldn't have known where to look for a poll or been interested. So the BG's decided between them - as it was them who had to clean up the mess.
BG's can refer any trouble makers to 'abuse' - they then decide whether to ppr, although I doubt they would see posting a list early (which was a big problem for the BG's) as cause for that.Jo x2007:£5181.09 2008: £6619.70 2009: £4284.49 2010: £5213.14 2011: £4980.62 2012: £3188.52
