This probably proves that Brighton is more buoyant than most places, though it's no excuse for the EA.
Yes, some people are suggesting you grab a mortgage and fix a low rate, while others say any advantage will be negated by further price falls, As usual, no one really knows.
If I knew what was best I'd be more confident about my decision-making too!0 -
Viewing done. Nice couple, knew what they were looking for and seen loads of properties. In rented flat and mortgaged arranged - so they and the EA tell me.
Said they loved the place - oh well.0 -
You never know jstallan, you could be Jammy and get an offer
Viewing done here, but the Agent did it, so no idea how it went, the phone isnt ringing with an offer:rotfl:Pawpurrs x0 -
We're having a bit of a 'do' here today for all the old neighbours and the new ones who want to pop in. It's a bit of a luxury really, as you never have time to do these things in the final throes of moving out.

'Jammy'............
Well I did get an offer - 98% of the asking price. No chain, currently in rented, Mortgage agreed, prepared to wait till we find a place - Surely it's too good to be true..0 -
Allready?? Now I am seriously peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed off! Its not fair!
I take it you have accepted then? Well done! Hope it all goes through smoothly for you.
Can I pout some more now!
Now the fun begins with the shopping for a new house part.
What sort of price range is your house in? Just cant believe it!Pawpurrs x0 -
Thanks - however I'm trying to contain my excitement as I'm fully aware how easy things can collapse. There is very little on the market that interests us - that will be our problem. Our house is a real cracker and both my wife and daughter do not wish to move - they love it. It's me who wants to move. As in a rising market I could not buy a property in the location I want, but a falling market it makes a difference - but still need properties to be on the market.
As I explained to my wife - we've got a buyer with no chain beneath and a decent price on the table. This gives us greater bargaining power to buy something. While there might not be our dream home on the market today, next week there could be!
I have just called the EA to accept the offer.0 -
Well done jstallen!
Have you heard any more pawpurrs?

Well I'm still here, our buyers have just been for a second viewing with both sets of parents:eek:
One of them mentioned something about our house being affected by subsidence, and that the previous owners should have been 'paid out' or something, and were asking us if we'd got a certificate of some sort? Have to say, its the first I've heard of it, it never came up when we were buying the property, and its never come up on any searches, anyone know where I can find out more about this?
I feel sick now, thinking their parents will have put them off - I wish they'd have visited with them BEFORE putting the offer in!:o0
