My first buyer was like that, she went round with a clipboard and asked for nearly everything, freestanding FF, antique beds, everything! Cheeky cow!
She sounds the same a right madam! She is buying a house not everything you own!
Hope you xchange soon, do you think she is going to gazunder?
I think a polite ff list as stated.......Can we now exchange from your sol, is required.
If she thinks she can win all the time, she may keep pushing.Pawpurrs x0 -
As an agent it is normal to have the very excited vendor call 9.30 a.m. the morning after the viewing. They say "have you heard the viewers seemed to love my place".
24 hours later, not having heard a thing, after trying to call the viewers on work, home, mobile numbers and sending an email, as an agent, you know the viewers are not interested. Sometimes the seller can't believe it and asks to us keep trying, which we do, even a note posted to the viewer to contact us urgently. But nothing.
So our policy is when we make contact to tell the viewers unless they give feedback we are not prepared to arrange future viewings. May sound a bit harsh but I believe in courtesy for the seller as well as our office.
So be warned those who view and DON'T give feedback as you could be chased and banned for life from that EA. Sods law is that agent may have your dream home the next week:D
I then just leave you out of the equation. you have nothing i want!!the seller does..and if they want to pay you its up to them but i would love deal direct with sellers..It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
HOW DARE SHE!!
Well its now a buyers market are you prepared to lose a sale for the sake of a couple of grand...buyers are getting blood out of a stone at the moment as were sellers in the last ten years..times have changed and until sellers realize this they are going nowhere..
The ones who are selling have been proactive with their prices and 20% off is not a great deal if the price was wishful thinking in the first place..WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR.....ANOTHER 15 TO 20% OFF IS THE PROJECTED FALLS..BY THE MARKETS...
In fact the price agreed is less than most 2 bed terraced houses, mine is much bigger and has a large garden. I really am not being greedy, I am leaving in lots of things that we agreed within that price.
To allow the buyer to move in when she wants I am putting my stuff in storage and moving in with family for a week or so until a rental is available (I am going to have to pay for 6 months rent even though I only want 3) as the people selling the house we want are in a chain that is moving very slowly.
I am doing everything I can to make my sale go smoothly, but constant demands and threats to pull out are not making it any easier. A few grand would be a huge problem to me, I have sold the house for so little I can just make the 25% for the house I am buying along with the fees. I will now have to pay for storage then rental and to replace some of the goods that I have left. The fridge freezer for example was not originally included as it was free standing (and very expensive). I have agreed to leaving that to appease the buyer.
I think she may well try and gazunder, if she does I will have to put my house back on the market as there is literally no give left in the money.

Will be thinking of you, mish, keep us updated.Pawpurrs x0

Hiya I think I stated that my house was very cheaply priced, I took the advice from here. I first put it up for sale 10% under the other similar houses, then dropped it twice as prices fell to ensure I was always the cheapest 3 bed in my post code area.

Mish
it sounds like you have tr..ied and bent over for her...so if you are at the edge of your price then be firm with the stupid womanIt is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?

Mishmash, if this nightmare buyer does gazunder, just look at it as positive thing. Difficult, I know, but this buyer sounds a right mare, who's getting far more than she deserves.
Hope everything turns out fine in the end!0 -
HI Everyone
Have a viewing on on friday, first for two weeks! As someone here sagely said they don't get excited anymore. .. Ditto! It is nice to think you are still in the loop though. Never had a second view...would perhaps get a little bit excited then:D
Looking at rented to move to..such a pain. Due to health probs there are loads of properties I have to discount and it's quite complicated and i always end up having to explain my objections...aaagh. I don't mind dropping the sales price but can't we have the old times back - just the bit where things actually shifted not the bit where properties rose unrealistically. Then I could just buy somewhere instead of doing this fan dance:rolleyes:0 -
Mishmash  Your buyer sounds truely vile!. I hope you move asap so no longer have to have dealings with this greedy bully!.
QTpie I doubt very much we are looking at the same property, maybe if I have a win on the lottery tonight! lol
Well still no sign of contracts for us hoping by next week, fingers crossed.0 -

Calm down geoff! At least investigate what people have done before subjecting them to a lecture. Mishmash has been through the mill too. I know you have your reasons for being angry with unrealistic vendors, and so have I, to an extent, but there comes a point in any negotiation when it is simply too one-sided and bullying sets in.
I don't think it's the case here, but sometimes extra demands can come from an over-zealous solicitor. When we'd verbally agreed conditions of sale, I was most peturbed to find more demands, including one that would have cost thousands to comply with, landing in my solicitor's in-tray. I just told her: 'No, we have an agreement to do XYZ, and if that's no use, it's all off.' We heard no more and the contract duly arrived without the offending additions. I know for a fact that the purchasers never requested them either.0 -
MISH i feel really sorry for you she sounds like a nightmare at the end of the day you aren't selling the house furnished. i would stand firm about the wardrobe you would regret it later if you gave it up when it has so many memories attatched. and i hate to say it but it does sound like she may try to gazunder. if she does print of all the posts on here and give them to her it wont help but it'll make you feel a hell of a lot better lol maybe it'l make her realise what a greedy cow she is. (im joking of course i dont want blamed for a law suit) good luck i really hope it all goes well at least it wont be long till your sitting in your lovely new home with a nice glass of wine.:coffee:i find a cup of tea can solve most problems:coffee:
