To those selling in these difficult times

Ok, so our buyers won't go up that little bit, so I think we're going to accept £225k. Bought it in mid 2004 for £200k, so does that sound like a realistic price in today's market...? Originally on at £289 last summer.
I'm going to call the EA in a minute. Just putting off opening the proverbial can of worms...!
Pawpurrs, how annoying your viewing cancelled
Ours went on for 290k in aug 2007. 2 failed sales then dropped to 225, got offer for 225k and then gazundered a week before exchange to 200k. We paid 212k for ours and it needed a fair bit of upgrading. I reckon you're doing ok with 225k. We complete next week.0 -
Thanks Pawpurrs and Nikki
Accepted £225k this afternoon, let the fun begin..!0 -
HI All
I did edit my post it is offers over £260k not £160k as I said (oops) even still it is very cheap (compared with prices down south) , looks out onto open countryside and I am in love; have second viewing booked then will offer.
I am soo excited!
Good luck to all others, if we can sell 2 houses (to buy 1) in this market there is hope for all.

Thanks Davesnave for all your messages and well done on selling your house. We have both started 2009 well
Good luck to all on this thread, as we all know what a difficult time it is trying to sell at the moment. Great to hear that some of you are getting offers.
So good to hear it all went through this time, Eloise! Your David will be relieved that he hasn't been sentenced to do another season. We will be doing a couple of shows; that's all.
Like a lot of people here, we took quite a hit on our original asking price, but the feeling of relief when it was all over was worth it. Let's hope that the recent renewal of interest comes to you and pawpurrs in the way of increased viewings on your houses....and good offers of course!
It's encouraging that a number of people have gone SSTC in the last week or so too. Well done to popoliv, dats and QT.
Sorry to hear jangor's story. I've never felt that way about a house, but I know my parents did, on more than one occasion. Mind you, if one of our earlier sales had gone through, I might be feeling the same way about a house we put an offer on. I can't imagine what we saw in it now.0 -

Whoops! I almost forgot you, Mish.....Another great result!
It was quite a task you took on there, but you stayed very positive. I admired you, even when you weren't getting anywhere!0 -

After reading about ZOOPLA on here I checked out my own house on it last night...couldnt believe how much they value my house at! over £34,000 higher than the offer I have just accepted. Either Zoopla has grossly overvalued property prices or I have accepted a ridiculously low offer. I know which my money is on!
Zoopla is pants. You can do better yourself by checking sold prices for similar properties in your area in 2004/5 on Nethouseprices.0 -
another update from me
The viewer i knew didnt put an offer in :rotfl: no surprise there ( i'd sacked her a few years ago) she also didnt want to give any feedback.
The one the following day said he loved the house but he didnt know the area well enough to commit to living here!
Ive got another booked in for this afternoon at 3:15pm and another for Mon at 12pm.
Im getting the viewings so why i cant i get an offer ? fed up of this selling lark now.
On a positive note tho i had put my twins name down for a school in an area that we are wanting to move to ( thought we would of moved by now) i did'nt think we stood a chance of getting in where we are now but we did:j so atleast i dont have to change their schools when i moveMad mum to 4, boy 17, boy 10, boy 10 and girl 7
My Children are my life, every moment is a memory in the making.:j0 -
Good luck for the viewings you've got lined up Charliestwins.
Are there any issues in the feedback that keep coming up time and again? For us it's that the bathroom is downstairs, unfortunately nothing we can do about that.
Had a viewing yesterday, quickest ever, she must have been in the house 2 mins. We think she had already offered on the house up the street as that has just gone SSTC and has the bathroom upstairs. At least she turned up and was nice. I don't understand why some people are obnoxious when viewing a house.0
