  • everyone seems to be doing real good--think i need to shift ny butt again.
SCATTYMAM- my hubby doesnt do birthdays or christmas. I do all the cards, cleaning, food shop, gifts, wrapping, the lot. He will however give me any amount of money he has to help his guilt! He hates shopping of any description always has. Sometimes it really gets at me and annoys me but then other times im glad he keeps out of my way. The worst bit is i tell him or show him each gift and say who its for. Then we go out deliver the pressies etc, and someone will open a gift and hubby will say ' oh thats nice who bought you that?'!!! then i could kick him for not listening when i told him its from us. men eh??

    We have snow!!

Okay, so we are in the rural glens of Scotland and it is on the very top of the hills behind our house and it looks like icing sugar on a cake but IT IS SNOW!!! :T

    And it is freezing today!

So from my list I have done:-

1 [strike]Wrap shoebox for DD1 to take to school next week to be sent abroad.[/strike]
2.[strike] Look out bits to go in shoebox and make list of things to be bought.[/strike]
    3. [strike]Make one more meal for the freezer.
    [/strike]4. Clean fridge.
5.[strike] Write ten more Christmas cards.
[/strike][strike]6. Tidy daughters' bedroom (jigsaws everywhere)
[/strike]7. Tackle mountain of ironing. (and put away - do not leave lying in piles in the hallway!)
    8. [strike]Write letter of apology to school for DD1's lost library book.
    9. Prepare DD1's Chrismas Card list.
    10. Ask DD1 to write 5 cards!
    [/strike]

So not too bad - Fridge is half cleaned and I did do the ironing but it has been replaced by today's pile! And no 10 - I did ask but she hasn't done it  !

My next ten will be bit more challenging I think - you lot are putting me to shame with all the decorating etc which is going on!

Oh goodness - do I just give up?? Just when I started to get things going again after I threw my back out and was finally able to move comfortably, and all 5 of us in the house got the stomach flu. So, a week later, and things are again finally getting better - and grandchild brings home lice from the nursery! I could just cry! So now it's a nightmare of checking everyone every day and extra cleaning and DD combing out his hair and me combing out DD's hair. And keeping grandchild away from our own 2 year old so HE doesn't get them. *sigh*

But on a positive note - I just found out my best friend from the states is coming to visit in the beginning of December for a month or so (her kids have grown and both have plans to be with their dad this Christmas) so she'll be spending the holidays with us! :j Of course, that means I really need to get moving and make sure everything is done by end of November, so we can relax when she gets here and enjoy the holiday! And that includes finishing the redecorating in the living room! Eeeeeek! No pressure! Nothing like a deadline to get me moving! :rotfl:

TIGGER888- lovely that you have snow. Blue skies and beatuiful sunshine here, not very wintery at all today. No hills (unless you count the molehills) or anythiong resembling a moutain here flat as a pancake for miles around, but we are rural too, lots of open countryside...nice for winter walks.(and easy).
TRIGGLES- go put the kettle on, have a biscuit or 2, enjoy.....then get planning and moving ...the end of November will be here before we know it. Hope you really enjoy your friend visiting.
Off to do something else, something easy.....working myself up to the kitchen cupboards but i hate that job...not toady
