hi sarah - dont you find it awkward with a halloween birthday as I want to go all out on both and the day has to be shared :( DS normally has a halloween themed party but he's bored of that this year and wants laser quest.

Yes RoxieW I feel the same, We have had the halloween themed parties too but they get a bit boring each year, thats why we have booked to go away this year. We are only going to haven in Ayr, but they have loads of halloween stuff on for us all to enjoy all week and we can look forward to his birthday.

:T Well done everyone - you do seem to be rattling through the work now!

Right my list of ten things to be done :-

1 Wrap shoebox for DD1 to take to school next week to be sent abroad.
    2. Look out bits to go in shoebox and make list of things to be bought.
    3. Make one more meal for the freezer.
    4. Clean fridge.
    5. Write ten more Christmas cards.
    6. Tidy daughters' bedroom (jigsaws everywhere)
    7. Tackle mountain of ironing. (and put away - do not leave lying in piles in the hallway!)
    8. Write letter of apology to school for DD1's lost library book.
    9. Prepare DD1's Chrismas Card list.
    10. Ask DD1 to write 5 cards!

Okay - my reward is to watch Cranford tonight with a nice glass of wine. Only thing which may stop me today is watching the F1 this afternoon - trying not to look at the news etc so its not spoiled! (actually looking at my list I think I could get a lot of jobs done whilst watching the Grand Prix!!) :T

Had a great day so far - I've never stopped too. Decided we were going to stay in all day so visited the relatives yesterday so that we could. Have sorted husbands drawers and wardrobes while he was lying in bed so that I could ask him what I could throw etc; did quite well but he wouldn't part with his socks!!! - he has hundreds of pairs. Managed to chuck about 20 that didn't have a match or had holes in, but have got another two bags of rubbish and one bag for the charity shop. So I've started with my list of 10...
I had bought him socks for christmas but as we now realise he has plenty I''m going to give them to FIL for his christmas stocking (another tick there as I had got them for free when I exchanged something).

Planning on some crafts tonight...I wish.
  • Right, so I read Pinkladymel's 10 things idea on Friday, set up my list in my head, but never got round to writing it down. But seeing as since then I've only managed to do one thing off the list, having it in my head claerly isn't working! So here it is:

    1. Put away all clean clothes that are lying in piles around the house.
    2. Get all dirty stuff washed and hung out to dry.
    3. Move dining table and tackle piles of doom which are hiding underneath it! Making sure that all unwanted things actually leave the house and don't just end up in another pile :o
    4. Do washing up, clean kitchen and inside fridge
    5. Sort out all paper work, file, and get rid of old documents
    6. Plan meals for rest of week from stuff in cupboards and freezer so we don't end up going to Tesco again 'cos we think we have nothing for tea
    7. Go through all my clothes and get rid of anything which is shabby, out of shape or doesn't fit
    8. Vacuum all rooms
    9. List more things on ebay
    10. Change bedclothes and tidy bedroom

Ok, so now it's out in the open I have no more excuses, and hopefully I will be shamed into actually getting on and doing something
much work to be done - new sig coming soon...
