  • Hi
I am going to join, i love christmas.
So far i have all my presents [ which i started buying in may]except a main one for hubby and mum, which i know what i am getting. I am making 3 food baskets for mum, hubby and mother in law, with various yummy stuff [shortbread, fudge, oil and vinegar]. i have made my christmas cake, a little too much brandy though.
I am making my christmas stockings at the moment and cant belive how excited i am and we have 71 days left.
Everyone on here seems to be so organised and its nice that other people are just the same as me unlike hubby who thinks i am mad for being so organised.

Well tis my day off today. OH is off with flue today so he's going to hinder my progress. Going to the hospital this morning with my granda so I should be there til about 12 so going to have a general clean around and get some stuff posted for ebay. Alot of my auctions end this afternoon so im excited to see how much I have made.

Also I am getting REALLY excited for Saturday. There is a huge fair on at Newcastle arena called Crafts at Christmas. I went with hubby last year but he dragged his feed around as hes not too keen on stuff like that. This year I am going alone and I am going to spend all day there!!

Oh and thanks for everyone answering about Boots points. Thats what I thought happened, which I think is unfair as they are your points and you have earned them fair and square!

As a rocker type :p I can recommend a few things he might like. Has he got rock band (computer game)? If so they do some awesome accessories on there like a coffin guitar bag, a guitar stand etc. Look what sort of bands he likes and see if they have a cd out around christmas that you could get the special edition of. There are like.. B list bands too who's tickets are much cheaper. I know you say he doesn't like clothes but you can't go wrong looking in HMV and getting him a hoody or belt buckle in his fave band. Does he like games workshop things? What about some Vans or Converse shoes? How about some cinema gift vouchers and sweets.

Thanks Mel, there some really good ideas. the max I am willing to spend on him is £20 as he never buys anybody anything for birthdays or christmas. The amount of times he has turned round to me at 10.30 at night and gone, oh s***t is it mum/dad's birthday tomorrow is untrue.

I am going to write some christmas cards out tonight, I hope at least. Still not gotten round to doing them, always omething more important crops up just as I am about to start, like watching the telly, or anything that doesnt involve hand writting anything. I think I will write them on the computer and then glue the text to the card lol. I work with computers far too much xxxxxx

    CALLING ALL CHRISTMAS EXPERTS:

Has anyone seen nice hot water bottles with nice cover on CHEAP anywhere, in shops? I seen some but they are £15 (way too much for me). Ebay's are cheaper but by the time you add on P&P.
Help me in my hot water bottle quest...

  • hi scattymam1- i saw the hot water bottles yesterday in matalan. they had jumpers on , different colours really nice, small ones £5 and large £10. Thinking of going back for a couple myself.

does anyone else do that?? you see something cant make your mind up and go home, then wish you had bought it in the first place....!!!

well last couple of days not done much at all couldnt be bothered. Now im thinking if i dont get cracking the weeks will just disappear, but i dont know what i feel like doing today. I have 2 baskets complete but they need arranging nicely and the cellophane doing so i may do that. later im going to town but will have to buy xmas cards, had a look and i dont have quite enough, so i think i will start writing on those in the evenings whilst watching telly. going to have a look in my homebargins to see if they have the twinnings hot choc too, its lovely.

see you all later, need a cuppa.
    bye
