Hello everyone! So many posts - well done to you all - I can't believe it's the 1st December tomorrow! Where has the time gone?
I've had a lovely day with my two DDs - went to our local visitor centre where they each painted a glass, then we had a sticky cake and drink in the cafe, then over the road to the huge Christmas shop called 'The Nutcracker' - I love it - if I could get a job there it would be heaven! DD2 wouldn't stop touching things though so it was slightly stressful as I thought I would be paying for breakages!! This is the sort of day I was aiming for when I started the OC - just a relaxing day with my kids so I am very happy tonight!
Pocket advent calenders are up and ready to be filled. I got another calendar today at the Christmas shop where the kids have to scratch off a panel each day to reveal a Christmas question, then when they have answered it they have to look for a sticker (which I will have to hide each day) to put on the calendar to build up a picture. This is it here - http://www.bod-it.co.uk/calendar.htm - I thought it sounded quite fun.
Slight panic regarding the present DD1 has asked Santa for - she wants a Bratz Magic Hair Colour doll and there are none in stock anywhere!! EBay has a couple so I may have to resort to that - a couple of friends are also on the look out. It's just typical - everything is done but the one thing she really wants is out of stock! Grrr!
Anyway, festive cheer to everyone - December is here - hooray!!!
Love
Gill

Argh!
Those aprons are lovely, I've got one with poinsettias on it, but another one wouldn't hurt!
Congrats misty, what a lovely surprise
Thank god it's december tomorrow, as I get to eat chocolate everyday from my advent calender...who said they were just for kids:xmastree:Christmasaholic and proud! :xmassmile0 -
Yay! Well gave myself 24 hours off the work, wrapped my Mum's 'treat your feet hamper' - will post a pic shortly - although I always wrap each bit so its a bit more exciting so you can't actually see anything
Panicking a bit because I feel like I haven't got her much ( because I know the wine hamper only cost me £2.67 - feel tight giving that as a gift!) got her fave bubble bath, a nighty etc. but nothing remotely exciting.
I may have to force myself to scrap a few more pages to make her scrapbook look a bit more substantial!
Mel - Iz I being well fick, or have I missed the link to the creative life webpage with all the entries for the first challenge on? Also you need to post a link to it on your blog like another of the challengers have done to make sure more people see YOUR work (not theirs)
To the rest of the troops on the thread - we all know how AMAZING Mel's scrapbooking AND organising for Christmas is, so it seems only fair as our leader that we support her in her quest to be the Scrapbook Apprentice! We're all completely unbiased, and will be voting for Mel

Hi Gill
Re Bratz doll, its a longt shot, but has worked for me in the past.
Plan A - Go into your local Argos store, and ask them to check the delievery schedule, if they have one comeing in on the next couple of delieveries they can reserve one for you.
Plan B - Dont know if you use text and reserve at all with Argos (basically at back of book by store name is store number, and text number (07786201201), do it a a new message on phone if the item is our of stock, you get a return text saying out of stock, but also the option of saying yes to Argos texting you when the product comes in, think its weekly texts, but at each stage you get chance to say yes, reserve, or yes I still want to wait, or no do not text again.
for example
Item no - 034/5678
local store number 240
put on text 0345678 240
number to text - 07786201201

Had a brilliant day out at Blists Hill. only 20mins as Im in Shrewsbury, my dd loved it, dd had a donkey ride, had a pint in the old pub, sat by the log fire absolutely bliss, they had morris dancers, a local band, an xmas fare, anyone who wants a great day out I would highly recommend it.
Every thing was really well priced, and as you went along at the demonstations you got involved, we got some plaster of paris flowers they were only 20p each, dipped cnadles 30p each, handmade gingerbread xmas trees 50p, nothing was a rip off which in this day and age makes a change.
Thou dd was in bad books, we went into the victorian school and they had the old desks and slate and chalk to write with, she pipes up was that what it was like when u were at school mummy, thats if you can remember that far back!!
Back to xmas regime tomorrow, thou escaping for a girls night out 2mor, a curry and a couple of drinks, just make sure clean teeth well, got 1st and 2nd fillings on Tuesday, any of my lovely mse friends like to swop places!! xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
