Heating on yet ?!?

Can't have heating on in September, my DH would have heartfailure!
Last year we put it off till December I think but that would only be an hour or so in the evening and first thing in the morning. At night we have the heating off and windows open.0 -
Hoping to put it off until 1st November, still got summer duvet on at the moment. September is way too early for the heating.0

Put in on briefly at the weekend just to check all the radiators heated up and it was working OK. Don't want to get caught out in the first really cold spell when you can't get hold of a plumber !!!
Oh, aiming for mid October before putting mine on full time.0 -
Really cold here at the moment
wind howling and pouring rain !
Afraid I've given in and had the heating onThe object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane — Marcus Aurelius0 -
Freezing here too!
I've just put on another big woolly cardi but still freezing. I reckon we might have to give in this weekend and put it on0 -
Absolutely awful here howling gale and pouring I'm the one who'll put off having the fire or heating on but hubby is already saying he's cold so I reckon the fire will be going on later0

Not on yet. And funding for my loft and cavity wall insulation which was due to go in this month has now been stopped. What a downer.
Have snuggled under the duvet to watch TV a couple of times though.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

Thanks for reminding me :T
Just put mine on for 20 mins to check all working ok but that was after I'd put clothes over each one to dry, have not intention of actually putting the CH on to heat the house until Nov.
All fired up ok but a couple were a bit cold at the bottom still and hadn't heated up to the same level as the others but they were the ones furthest away from the boiler.....if that means anythingToo hard for me, I've made a note and will leave it up to OH, if not looks like the man from BG will have to take a good look on his annual inspection.

my whole boiler has been off since march!!!! i am now waiting for my new man to speak to his corgi registered friend to get him to come and fix leaking rad and other probs!!!!
hopefully his time will be free but hoping that problems are simple and cheap to fix!!!
we have three of the cheapy £10 double duvets and two old singles so they tend to move around the house depending on where we are cold!! i have rules that if it has been on floor it does not go on bed but is ok for sofa!!
once fixed i plan on leaving ch off until at least mid october but may use gas fire in living room if it gets chilly. i find that if it is on for a while when we are downstairs and then we open all the doors the heat travels upstairs.
my fave tip for a cold bed is to warm it up for a minute with a hairdryer and then put a hot water bottle by my feet - old tip from student days!!it's nice to be important but more important to be nice!! :kisses3:0 -
I put it on in mid November IF it gets cold outside. Last year it was mild until December.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.
