I got sky+ installed about 7 days ago now, if I cancelled it as it is still within the 30 day period, could I choose to pay £10 per month and use it as freesat - well nearly freesat anyway.
Edit: Or would they demand all their equipment back?Amo L'Italia0 -

Well sky are offering 4 mixes, eve weekend calls & super fast broadband for £17 per month,
So there is a basis to start you shouldn't be paying more than £17 for the above
Call 08442411218 thats introduce a friend line
Tell them that your a virgin customer but aren't happy with the service and your friend told you about sky, tell them that u rang to cancel your service with virgin and they offered you a deal of free calls/ broadband and an upgrade to virgin plus box. Tell them that you have had such bad service off them that you would much rather join sky as your friend said that they have always found the sevice good. Ask them if there is anything they can offer as you like the sound of the virgin deal but are fed up with the service and you don't want to be paying too much ...... you know with the credit crunch and everything.... let them start talking first and then throw the items your interested into the conversation.....
E.G you could try and ask them if there is anything they could do about your line rental as you are with BT at the moment and virgin offered you to come over to them with free calls but there 0845 calls are so expensive. Mention that talk talk are offering you free unlimited call and broadband but that you woud much prefer to have everything with one provider is there anything u can do. Also say that you would much prefer sky + is there any offer on that
I dunno if the above will work but u can give it a try because a lot of us have made a saving because we are customers already.
If you do go ahead and the above works if you want to introduce me as friend I would be happy as we would both get £50 worth of M&S vouchers.....
Good luck hope it work out for you0 -

Surely the lastest dvd recorders can pause live TV?
DVD recorders with Chasing Playback basically let you pause live tv -- they let you watch and pause (and rewind and fast forward) a show as it records (if you use a DVD RAM disc), so you are actually watching it about a second or two later than live. Our flat is hooked up in a way that sky+ won't work, nor will any digital recorder. Which is why we got the DVD recorder with chasing playback. Works great, though the one downside is you can't watch one channel while you record another. But at least you can watch other shows on the DVD while it tapes a new show if you like. And with a second dvd player hooked up, we can watch a movie while the recorder is taping something if we like, too.0 -
I currently pay £48 for sky+ (6 mixes plus movies). I want to reduce the monthly subsciption I am paying and dont mind losing the movies. But I do want to take advantage of the 'surf and talk' option as well, so my question is, if I ring sky tomorrow asking/begging, will I get sky+, broadband and telephone for less or the same as I am paying now?0

You need to keep movies to avoid paying £10 for sky +, need to have a premium channel. Can add sky talk for free if you want free evening and weekend calls.

That's not correct, you get Sky+ for free with ANY package now, it changed earlier this year and the minimum package is now the £17 basic mix one. I signed up the mother & father-in-law with it in June, they now get Sky Talk off-peak calls, 2mb broadband, two basic mixes and Sky+ functionality for £17 (soon to be £18) a month.
They are well chuffed although i don't think that having 'emmerdale' on a series link is what the inventor of the technology had in mind
I even blagged the Sky+, installed for free and slipped the installer £15 to wire a 25m extension cable to another sky box (for freeview), sold the main Sky box on ebay for £25 for a £10 profit !!!!!!0 -
Sorry didnt realise was when i signed up:female:0
