  • me again chums ,just got back home after having my three youngest little grandsons 4,7,& 8.They were perfect little angels, and so well behaved that I blew a tenner on Lunch for them after the cinema. That came from my Happy Cash Stash, so I keep that seperate from my GC money.
We also had a free DVD called Valiant from the odeon as I had bought more than 3 tickets .It's an animated cartoon film about pidgeons and the boys watched it when we got back to their house.
SC is on with huge pot of veggie soup that should be done by tonight so I can fill some lakeland soup bags with for the freezer. There is definately a nip in the air, and Autumn is on its way I think
I am going to put my feet up and watch a bit of catch-up t.v. and do some knitting tonight I think.
Tomorrow I will have my DD on the doorstep about 9.00 a.m. so she will need cheering up after her LO starts school. We live in the same village, and the boy's school is just across the road from my house.I think I may make some of Twinks hob-nobs to cheer her up a bit this afternoon as well.
    have a nice evening everyone
  • Well, the washing machine is on its third load - although this load will have to go to tumble dry :o One thing about this board, one does question habits. I started tumble drying socks and undies when some young scallywag demolished my clothes line along with most of my front wall and my gate with a stolen car. It is just a habit, but at the moment the habit is sticking because the weather is just silly and there is only so many places one can stick washing (depending on your imagination )

You can probably tell that despite the little setbacks today I am feeling so much better than I have been, which is odd because I ran out of antidepressants for Monday night and I just plain forgot last night. I will be placing the antidepressants somewhere extremely prominent tonight!

I have also been out with little bear and posted an ebay parcel off. I had to pick my moment between showers and I think little bear thought his mother had gone quite batty as he was suddenly scooped up from his bricks and thrust into his pushchair!

I am feeling better, but perhaps not entirely well. I am about to go and use the Remoska for the first time. I feel very daunted. My sense of adventure has got up and gone off to have adventures by itself. But if I can push myself to that it will be a real step forward.

I may come back on here and confess we had fish fingers again for tea :o

Just wanted to say thanks for the hugs, it really meant alot.

DD has returned, and loved it and seems so grown up. She is at the moment doing her homework, and has shown me from front to back cover in great detail her work planner, it seems very complicated with homework planners and a fortnighly lesson timetable.

I must admit, I totally forgot and started to walk to collect the children from school as I have done for years, half way up the road, I realised they didn't want me to collect them, so I took a slight detour home just so my DD could use her new house key, which she has been given in case of emergencies.

I been really busy, done the ironing, mowed the lawn, cleaned the house fom top to bottom, just so I didn't have time to sit and think about the children.

JackieO, make sure you have a supply of tissues for tomorrow morning.

Hugs to everyone who needs them and welcome to the newbies, this is a great board for support, and you always feel welcome here.

Thank you to everyone for all the good wishes, it really hurt though stupid as it sounds! Can now lift my arms up okay and am pretty sure it's just a pulled muscle, going to take tonight off work as well, best to let it recover properly I think, and I can't even remember the last time I was off work, sure Mr T's will survive without me!

Pippa - good luck to your ds and dil with their adoption, I know that there are sooooo many hoops people have to jump through but I am so glad that there are people who are prepared to do all the jumping.

Thanks mummysaver, yes the hoops seem never ending, its taken nearly 2 yrs in total now, I can hardly believe its that long. A lot of the couples that were in the same sessions with them have given up, which is a shame.
But DS2 and DIL are sticking with it to the end, they want children and thats the way to go, we will back them all the way and help out when they need us to.

I am pleased you are feeling a bit better now, but dont rush it, pulled muscles take time to heal :D

Hi, late posting today as I've had to work for a living (for once)

Sybil, you do sound chirpier, maybe it's because you have taken charge of some household jobs, such as the electrician. Well done on nipping out with little bear to post the parcel.

Hugs to those whose kids have gone to school today, Miss Twit is back tomorrow and I've had to re-make a skirt for her. It looked as though she was wearing jodhpurs when she put it on. It was one I bought about 2 years ago as she had gone up a size, she wore it a couple of times and then refused and slimmed back into her old ones. I think it was designed for gels with childbearing hips :rotfl:

We've had tea, pasta with a tomatoey & bacon sauce for Mr Twit and pasta with butter and parmesan for me  There is enough left for another portion, but Miss Twit has gone to the cinema and I'm not sure if she'll be eating when she returns or not.....suppose she can take it for lunch tomorrow.

scuzz, hope you are feeling better, have you managed to get the windows on the flat sorted.
floss, did you have a good time in Derbyshire.
Morwenna, not seen you for a couple of days, is it going ok with your new boss.

Oh well, suppose I'd better tackle the washing up.
Love to all The Twit :grouphug:

O Dazi thats lovely, arent you clever:T

Kathy ooo toilets how exciting ;) :rotfl:

annie you rant away if it makes you feel better, :D
Sybil you are doing so well :T How is little bear today?

Lame wolf glad all went well for you x

Well, everything went ok for mum and her appt for her cataract. I am impressed with Selly Oak Hospital, they were organised, caring and patient, which takes some doing with some of the people there. The result is she will be having her cataract done in a couple of months, which is good news as she can hardly see through her left eye now.
The heavens opened as we came out, but I had rung OH and he picked us up so we did'nt get wet.
OH has had dinner, toasted muffins with beans, but I am not hungry, no idea why, all I have had today is baked spud with beef salad and a donut at MrM's.

Off to watch a bit of catch up now and do some knitting, if I stay awake I will be back later :rotfl:

Big ((((hugs)))) to mums with newbies at school. It is so hard in a way but also so very wonderful to see them skippetty hopping off to school. I remember my sister sent me a clipping of a poem about it all but can't find it. I do remember though, when we still lived in Scotland, at the end of term assembly before summer all those moving away or moving on to secondary schools were mentioned and we all sang 'One more step along the road I go'. Wow - brings a lump to my throat even now, 15 or so year after we moved to England!!

Hester - thinking of you all re Ofsted. There is no escape - we had ours (college) in November - were awarded 'good'. Hurrah you might think. Ah well, we have returned and now have to plan to be 'outstanding' and will have spot checks on lesson plans and impromptu observations........throughout the year. Hhhhmmm. I teach in different locations every hour so either have to leave rooms early or arrive late. Do you think we feel motivated? Ah well.

    Sorry folks - rant over.

Sybil- really glad you went out today. Also, could you dye the wool which came in the wrong colour? I don't really know about these things and am sure you have considered it.

Off outside to do some gardening. Yes, it's 7pm but it looks nice out theresmile.gif

    Evening all

Feeling much better today, but whatatwit still no joy on the windows.

Found some more interesting crafting sites which are really inspiring me to get going. Been waiting for a phone call all afternoon from a man about some work, but nothing. Oh well, maybe he'll call tomorrow.

All daily clicks have been done for the day, just working my way through the surveys.

Having a simple dinner of boiled eggs.

Hugs to everyone who needs/wants one.
