We had given my dad the box for fathers day and he gave it back to me last week when I said I was looking for one. Just need to get a nice bottle of wine to go in it and find a verse for the card.
Also my landlord has been here, putting some more pebbles on our garden, so naturally I had to stop HW make him coffee and have a chat. Now need to do a bit of clearing up as think OH may be home tonight and theres paint and glue everywhere
(((hugs))) for those feeling poorly and for those having a sad day
Enjoy the rest of the day everyone xxxwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

HI everyone - not getting much chance on here because DH keeps asking me to look at websites for toilets and showers for the quote he's doing. Looking at pictures of toilets is so boring!
Anyway, sending more (((hugs))) to so many poorly and worried ones today.
Welcome to Lilycharlotte - glad you have joined us.
Beth - as you are in Glastonbury, that must be the carnival that also comes through Weston-super-Mare (my place of birth) in November - to my mind, the best carnival in the world, made even more special because it's held at night! I have many very happy childhood memories of it! Hope you DB2 feels like going - it's such an uplifting sight.
RedRuby - hope you are feeling better today.
Pippa - I do wish DH would warn me a few days in advance when he's going to have a day at home! Still, he's just popped out so I gave him a few errands to do for me, too!
It's really cold here today; very sunny and windy - a good drying day so I washed all the towels, but so cold I have had to put some socks on and that's the first time since last winter! It's very traditional 'back-to-school' weather, I think! I hope all those who started school today are having a good time and that the Mums are feeling less tearful now.
Anyway, I'd better go. See you all later.

Hello again and welcome to lilycharlotte :hello:
(((hugs))) to those mums who had a bittersweet day today with their children starting/changing school.
(((hugs))) also to those feeling under the weather/fed up/cheesed off/etc. Thanks too for your good wishes. My headache has lifted thankfully.
My expected long day at work didn't exactly turn out that way as my boss (who just came back from a 3-week holiday to France 2 weeks ago) announced that he and his DWife are off again to France next week for *another* holiday. So, I'm being left to run the office on my own again. I used to love my job but now I'm seriously looking at other options as I'm just feeling taken for granted. So, I left on time and hardly said a word while I was there.
Sorry for that little rant but I had to let off some steam before I pick up DS and DD from school. Enough moaning from me. I'm off to find a cheaper car insurance quote if I can.
Bye for now. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

You are not being daft - just being a good mum!
Wave to lilycharlotte:hello:
Baked a dozen rolls and have a huge slow cooker full of lentil soup.
Chopped veg ready to roast tonight and boiled some potatoes to make spicy wedges later.
Bought an account book and intend to start writing down exactly what we spend so I can keep a check on things. I stopped doing this when DDs were on holiday and want to get back into the habit.
I also want to stop going to the shop as often as it really mounts up and is much cheaper if I just do a big shop at Lidl.
Found some pretty bone china tea plates in the charity shop that will be a good match for the teacups I bought a few months ago. £3 for six plates!:j
Hug to everyone and going to have a cup of tea to warm me up as it has started to rain and get really dark!"This site is addictive!"

Afternoon all,
Hope everyone is well and hugs to all who need them (have not read the whole thread yet).
Busy day today, flylady chores in the morning, then we went to Lidl/Tesco/Coop for a few bits, although stayed within the weekly budget
.
Been doing loads of washing too, sunny for 1 hour, then wind, then rain lol so its hit and miss to get things dried!
Need to make some more Christmas cards later, getting there slowly using nice kits
Might also x stitch later as have some nice ones to do, and got 1 for £2 in the charity shop today- lovely kitties on it.
Ok, take care all and hope the sun is shining in your heart even if not above.

Thank you everybody for your welcomes

I am now wizzing around trying to do as much housework before my DD wakes up. I have spent far too long sat here.
To make myself feel better, I just polished the computer. That counts, right??

Hi Guys!
Hope everyone is well.
DW is on ATM and WM is loaded ready to go, but I may leave it till the morning as its raining outside and want it dried on the line really. Have only needed to do 4 loads since Friday and that included all bedding and towels:D
Our friends bought over some sausages at the weekend and they werent used, so I have done a sausage cassarole with them. I have added extra peas and sweetcorn and OH wants some sprouts on the side
It has been cooking in SC since 10am and I have just popped some spuds to bake in the Remoska. Not done baked spuds in there before, so hoping they will be okay.
Anyway, I am not feeling too good so will keep it short and sweet.
Hugs to all.

Afternoon all.
(((((Hugs))))) for everyone who's unwell, sad, worried, or otherwise hurting today, and for anyone else who wants one.
Thanks to those who wished me luck with my hospital appointment yesterday; it went better than I'd hoped, in that I didn't have to have a blood test. They had no-one on site to do bloods, and I said in that case, if I have to have one, it'll have to be on Sept 26th when I have an appointment at the pain clinic, as Mr LW can't take yet another day's leave just for me to have blood taken. Anyway, the rheumatologist decided I could be let off for now!:j
I was exhausted by the time we got out, so didn't come online yesterday, but today I've managed to make apple & raisin pie, cheese tomato & Quorn quiche, and bread rolls, even though my knees are giving me some mega-gyp today. The bar chair and the wheeled trolley in the kitchen are certainly earning their keep!:o
Only other job I must do today is replace a button on Mr LW's tweed jacket. (I think it might be a case of a wee bit too much tummy, there):D
Have a good day, all.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
