    Morning All!

Firstly I gotta say sorry for being so dumb last night.:o I was on a bit of a downer. I've pulled myself together now ;) I'm joining Dogrose in the slightly hungover corner.

Huge hugs to all sending their babies off to school today :grouphug:, congratulations to all glad to be sending theirs back , and commiserations to those back at work

:grouphug: to Pixie and AnnieBL, and of course Redruby and Beth's peeps, hope you're feeling better soon x

    Sammyjig, good for you :j

Taplady, you made me giggle :rotfl: I've done it, too!

JackieO Space Chimps sounds great, hope you enjoy it :rotfl:

Huge hugs to anyone else I've missed too :grouphug:

Well, my mission for today is to sort out the massload of laundry I did yesterday. Ideally, I would like some of it to DRY. It's all still as wet as it was when I put it on the rails! Outside looks a bit iffy. I'm considering shutting it all in a room and blasting it with the halogen heater and dehumidifier, but don't tell anyone. :p Well, I'm not going to really, but I'm wondering, would that even use less leccy than the tumble drier???

My other mission is to put some curtain rails above the doors, since I first OH to do it 2 1/2 years ago and they're still not done  This involves using a drill, which I am not good at, but I'm thinking I might have got better at it in all the years I haven't been trying ;) Plus, if I ruin a wall, it might make OH start doing the little DIY jobs for me!!!!

Anyway, I have a meeting with the Avon manager at midday, so I need to have a whip-round for her. She is really nice actually, I'm just sceptical that I'll earn any money off it!

Have a good day, peeps

    Morning all!

Hugs to all school returnings, pupils and teachers! dd3 has gone back today, didn't realise quite how much High School Musical stuff she'd managed to con me into buying until I saw it all together - ruck sack, pe bag, coat, pencil case, folder (she's only in yr 3 so no idea why she feels she needs one!), good job she didn't spot the HSM shoes in Asda lol! She's looking forward to seeing all her pals again, lovely to be able to pull so many lunch bits out of the freezer cos they were all prepared, let's hope I can keep up with it, cos doing 4 kids lunches plus another for oh when he's around is a pain when I get in from work! She's really excited about having a bit of choc spread to dip fruit pieces in, bless her, well since I'm refusing to buy treats for the boxes I thought she'd best have something nice!

Other 3 have all their stuff ready, well until they wake up tomorrow and remember they are missing something vital! oh is off and away tomorrow for the rest of the week so it'll be very quiet here, and much as I miss them all I will enjoy the peace and my time being my own again.

Planning on clearing out the utility again, seems full of clean clothes yet again that all need to go away! Will then put bm, dehydrator and poss sc out there, all are in constant use, but they are all so big and take up so much worktop space it'd be nice to be able to use! Other than that will be going blackberrying, apparently they are now ripe according to dd2, yippee, will be open freezing some, cooking and freezing others and making some apple and blackberry jam with others - must phone my friend and go and raid her orchard again!

Dinner tonight is ready made kievs! With salad and hm wedges. Followed by pineapple upside down cake.

Done bm, wm (bright enough to hang out but keeps showering heavily, so will hopefully brighten by the time it's finished), dw and stowed away the leftover portions of lasagne from last night before ds wakes up and eats it all for brekkie! Used realeat frozen veg mince, £1.99 and make approx 2lbs of mince, seems pretty good value to me, stays in quite nice big bits as well, and works okay with lentils and oats added (ds was surprised about the oats going in but said nothing about the lentils, think he's used to them being chucked in everything already!).

Another coffee and a catch up then onwards and upwards - no shower yet as water is off (oh woke me up to ask why, think he thought I'd suddenly become a water expert!). Have a good day all xx

to merlot and all those with kids going to school. its a big day, and we miss them and worry about them, but its a day to celebrate too, another milestone in their lives. I'll be the same next weekend when my son goes, pleased for him but yet sad because in a way my job is done.

(((Hugs))) to all those feeling it now that their babies have gone to school. I know exactly what it feels like; it seems like only yesterday when mine started school. Just wait till they leave home - it's the same sort of feeling! Good luck to all of them this week.

(((Hugs))) to all the poorly ones, too; there seems to be a lot of you today.

Well, off to do the ironing!

Back again, and just about caught up I think!

Jayward - fingers crossed for your dh's job, what a horrible worry for you.

    Lucysmam - hello and welcome!

Penpin - cheeky! Of course the moski is fine, as if I'd risk damaging that lol! Your post did make me laugh though. Prob my own fault that I fell over as I'd been lying on the bed playing with the pooter, then remembered the focaccia, and ran to check on it, much as I love the moski I haven't yet taken to keeping it in my bedroom!

Thank you to everyone for all the good wishes, it really hurt though stupid as it sounds! Can now lift my arms up okay and am pretty sure it's just a pulled muscle, going to take tonight off work as well, best to let it recover properly I think, and I can't even remember the last time I was off work, sure Mr T's will survive without me!

Pippa - good luck to your ds and dil with their adoption, I know that there are sooooo many hoops people have to jump through but I am so glad that there are people who are prepared to do all the jumping.

Taplady - well done on being a finalist, what might you win? Big trophy for your mantelpiece? Holiday? Slap up meal lol?!

I'm sure there were loads of other people I wanted to say things to, but as usual I can't remember! Anyway, redruby, pixie and annie, hope you all feel better soon.

  • Well it's most certainly autumn here.Got up at 6.30 today and opened the back door and it was cold, opened the blinds round the front and the trees in front of the police station opposite have lost loads of leaves over night.I've got an awful sore throat today and feel a bit rough so I have no idea what I'm going to do today as I just can't be bothered.Think I'll just potter and do nothing much.
For all the mums who are weepy cos their children are off to school I feel for you.I remember my own three little girls first days.I cried more than them. The same happened when my granddaughter started school(only much worse) as I knew things would never again be the same. She's going to Uni soon and my heart is breaking, can't bear the thought of her going away.So you see mums out there it never gets any easier.
Have a good day everyone,I hope the poorly ones feel better soon. xxx

    Morning all:)
I haven't been about much for the past couple of days, as have been dealing with DD and not so dear SIL, who are up and down due to her raging preg hormones and unsympathetic boss, who keeps putting her on 7am shifts even tho he knows she has raging morning sickness. She is very resilient usually but is totally wiped out, and trying to prove herself in the new job, and her bf just doesn't get how tired and sick she is:([STRIKE]do men ever understand?[/STRIKE]
Dad's also quite down at the mo, as he's back and forth for blood tests, transusions and infusions and is sick of it all, plus exhausted:o
I've got a cold n sore ear, plus am very run down and worried about everyone, and now work yet as the schools have just gone back:rolleyes:
OS wise I was very lucky and got some nearly new 3 and 2 seater black leather sofas yesterday off a very kind friend of a friend, all I had to pay for was the van hire to collect it:T :T
Today i'm doing very little except maybe a bit of decluttering in the kitchen.Left over pasta for tea, with jacket spuds;) , and i'll be moving the ironing pile, so I stop feeling guilty every time I see it:o
Anyway HUGGLES to all in need today esp BETH,JAYWARD, BOOKY, WEBBY AND PIXIELUST, and HUGS to all those whose babies are starting school, I can remember what it felt like:A

*goes and stands with dogrose and silvercharming in the ever-so-slightly hungover-corner* :) Still - it was nice wine and on offer, so very MSE :)

Hugs for merlot, stef and all those with little ones starting a new adventure today :) Of course you can cry; it's the end of phase and the beginning of a new one, so it's only natural that you do. :)
Bethebee - hugs for you and your family too - glad you can get people together for the carnival :)
JackieO - I love the cuttlebug machines :) I have a sizzix machine which is nice but a lot of the dies are quite primative - so I've been using accucut dies in it instead as the shapes are nice.
Pixie - I'm half my bodyweight in caffiene at the moment (hence my avvy!) I don't know how I'd keep awake without it :rotfl: hope you are feel better soon.
Hugs for redruby, annie and mrstittlemouse and anybody feeling under the weather today
    Well done taplady :)
reverie - ((hug)) for you the right job will come along
Hi sammyjig - glad everything is good :)

Writing again today, didn't do much last night as I got home late, OH had cooked pasta and cheese sauce which was really nice. I then sat on the sofa with a bottle of wine a carton of ice-cream :) I am going home early today as it is OH's last night before he goes away - I am going to do something with the cod fillet in the fridge for tea (and quorn for me as I don't eat fish) but I haven't decided exactly yet. I find it difficult to cook stuff I don't like :) *shudders*

Have a good day all, cel x

  • Morning:hello:

Big hugs to those feeling poorly.
    Taplady good luck for tonight.
Merlot Your kids will have a great day at school so go and put your feet up and enjoy the peace!

My DD1 started at her secondary school today and looked so smart and grown-up. I took her to a special assembly and then said goodbye with a lump in my throat. I just hope that she manages to get the 2 buses home ok.
DD2 started at junior school on monday and seems to be happy too.

I return to school this afternoon so I'm making the most of my last morning off. ;)
On monday I did a huge grocery shop and I've even had to store some of it in the spare bedroom. :o Yesterday I gave the house a good clean and did my schoolwork so I'm pretty much up to date with everything.
We're off to my parent's for tea, so I'm looking forward to not having to cook for a change.

My new book from Amazon came before. It was recommended on here by someone, The Reader's Digest book 'Extraordinary uses for ordinary things' and I managed to get it for £6. It has almost 400 pages so it should keep me going for a while.:D
Right I need to get ready for w*** so hope you all have a happy day.:D
