    Morning Everyone

DD starts pre-school today in the same building that my grandfather, father and myself went to school. I think I'm going to come home and sob the time is going so quickly.

I have the morning off for so its the ironing pile for me and then this afternoon its swimming lesson I may go in for a swim but havent decided yet. Its my SIL birthday today so I will take her present round later and go to Mr M's to see what yellow sticker treat we can have for tea.

    Have a good day everyone

    Morning all :hello:

I'm really excited coz my curly kale is coming through! :j It said 14-20 days on the packet but it's already showing, and it's only been 3 days :j

On the other hand, I'm seeing my counsellor today which is really good because she's been on holiday for 2 weeks and I'm practically crawling up the walls.....

So I won't be here long. Hope everyone has a good day!!!

Oooh its another lovely morning here, but yesterday it only lasted till lunch time ,then the heavens opened - I got caught out in town.I'd just been into Home Bargains and got one each of the microfibre hair turbans and towel wraps, ended up pulling the turban out of the wrapping in the car and giving my hair a good rub, rain was running down my face. Not a good look!
DH and DS2 are back at work after a couple of days off pricing up some jobs off some planning drawings they were sent,so it's nice and peaceful-just me and the dog. There are drawings and scribblings all over the dining table though. When I asked why he wasn't up in the office, he said he couldn't spread out enough  .I don't know whether to risk 'tidying 'them or not.I need to type up some of the estimates later, and I've got some strawberries to make jam ,as my last lot was a great success with the family.
Catz, I made mango chutney yesterday afternoon.Last night after we'd eaten and were tidying up in the kitchen,DS2 said 'whats this ?' .It was the garlic and salt in the pestle and mortar that should have gone in the chutney!Grrr.Never mind ,it still tasted OK.
Good luck to my niece starting school for the first time today. My brother has been full of questions for me ,as I used to work in a Reception class.2 years since I left, where does the time go - it's scary.
((((HUGS)))) to those who want them.Hope you all have a nice day xx

    Morning all,
Miserable weather here but not raining yet. More painting to be done, have to cook DD2's and SiL 2b dinner as well as ours. Got 4 chick breasts out of freezer lastnight so SOMO1 I will try your recipe, just have to send DH out for fromage frais, I have some leeks and mushrooms to use up so will add those.

DH will take their Labs for a walk as I must get on with painting. DF phoned last night and asked to come and stay Fri to Mon. So he can meet his Sis who is over from AUSSIE's land. So couldn't say no, this is the 4th and thank goodness the last bedroom that's had a make over, but everytime I start one someone wants to stay.

DB1 phoned y/day, his blood count is up slightly, re his Prostate Cancer, I can tell he's a bit worried.
However, great news ....... He and SiL are coming to stay in Nov for a week. There is a Huge Carnival held in Nov and we always have a big party. We normally have about 22 stay for the w/end. This year we expect 16, lots of work but great fun.

I phoned DB2 and asked if he would come but as he is in a bad state I don't think he will. He expects treatment for the Melanoma will start about then.
Both DB's haven't seen each other for 3 yrs. My DMum is staying also.

Weeks ago I made a tonne of beef curry for the party, I have loads of other stuff to make and freeze and time is galloping away.

I'm on the look out for YS food to cook and freeze to cut down on cost.

Another coffee then paintbrush here I come.

    Huge hugs to all

My apologies I haven't read the thread, I can't I have tears strolling down my face, I'm just being silly, but I can't phone my mum cause she would think I'm being daft.

My wee girl has gone off to secondary school this morning for the first time with a spring in her step with a friend who called for her, my son has gone to junior school (year 5), he didn't want me to walk him there, he wanted to walk on his own, its only ten minutes up the road and no roads to cross, so off he went looking like a pack horse, and I feel really really sad, my house is quiet and empty, and I thinking of all daft things, how will my DD get on, will the older kids be nice with her this morning, will she be able to find the meeting place for her tudor (the school has almost 2000 pupils, and she is just a wee thing), will my DS find someone in the playground to talk to(his junior school has 600 pupils). Why the flipping heck do I feel so sad and I'm sat here in tears, my children are growing up and are becoming independant, I prayed for this day when they were wee and having a tandrum, but now it has arrived I'm in tears, I told you I'm being daft.

    Merlot.x.

  • Morning Chums ,
well last day of the holidays for my small grandsons .The youngest is so excited as he will be joining his three brothers at 'proper school' and not nursery tomorrow .My DD will be weeping buckets I bet as its the last of her brood to go.She has had 15 years with a little ankle-biter around her, and she will miss him dreadfully ,saying that so will I .Of all of my grandchildren he is the one who is the image of my late husband as he was born the year after I was widowed he has been a very special little chap to us all.
But he is so chuffed that he will be like the big boys and she has had a job getting him to take his uniform off and he has been going to bed with his little rucksack to cuddle insted of his much-loved teddy.Oh well they have to grow up at some point I suppose.
My DD is working today so she has given me some cash, and I'm taking the boys to the cinema I think Space Chimps is what they want to see.So I have got four bottles of juice and four little bags of sweets to take with us .I am sticking to the September GC as I was told that our craft club might be able to get a good deal on a 'Cuttlebug machine ' if there is enough interest .They are usually around 70 pounds but we should be able to get one for £50 if there are five of us buying . So my extra savings on food is going to treat myself to one of these. They are a really super machine for embossing and die cutting. As I make a lot of cards for charity ect I am really lusting after one of these.
Well time to toddle off <<hugs to those in need>> and a big ;) to the rest of you. Bit cooler this morning by at least its dry
    take care all

BIG HUGS to all those upset about their children going to school.

    HI LUCYSMAM :hello:

HUGS to Pixie, Anniebl, Jayward, Stefejb, Webitha and anyone else I've missed.

Put the duvet back on the bed last night, it's really chilly here. Still have loads of green toms and might be making chutney out of them soon.

OH is in bed. Will do some housework when he's up. Looking forward to DS going back to school tomorrow.

Baked potatoes and fillings for tea.

    Have a good day all.

Reverie.... The right job will come along soon.

Jayward.... Hope your OH gets good news re the redundancy

    Enjoy the cinema JackieO

    Thanks for the recipe SOMO1

Get well soon to Pixie, Annie and RedRuby

Thinking of you Beth and Candygirl

Had a busy day yesterday. Managed to get to the bottom of the ironing basket and put it all away. :j But have washed 2 loads this morning so it will soon be refilled.
Made lovely pea and ham soup and sarnies last night so everyone is off to school/work with their flasks. Had to buy an extra container for the yoghurt maker yesterday as they are eating it faster than I can produce it.
Made veg soup last night which cooked in the SC overnight and have a seeded loaf rising atm for lunch as my outlaws are coming. ;)
Will have them here all day so not alot else will get done. Baked spuds with tuna salad for tea.

Off to make the beds and swish the bathroom

    Take care all
