I had one of the best 'unexpected' moments once - I was at Notting Hill Carnival, and bumped into my on / off ex. We were currently off as he had dumped me by not returning my calls...

I had done my hair, had cool makeup on and even better was that he spotted me first and I was laughing my head off with my friend - totally natural, not that fake laugh I would have done if I had seem him first. ( hilarity probably due to the several cans of red stripe consumed and I did spoil the outfit somewhat by carrying a plastic bag full of more cans....)

I was sooo pleased by it all!!!:j

Have to say it was a total one off, normally I find myself ducking behind supermarket shelves, into random shops and other ridiculous hiding places as I have old clothes and greasy hair!!!

Lula - don't feel that all you haven't achieved anything. Bringing up children on your own is really tough and from what you have posted about your DD, she seems like a very well-brought up child and you should be really proud about that. Also you have said previously that you are limited in the jobs you can do as you want to be at home for DD. So choosing those jobs for the flexibility they offer is a sign of sacrifice for your family and isn't a permanent situation. As DD gets older you will be able to look more widely for another job and find something suitably satisfying.

I'm really enjoying reading your Quest and look forward to further installment froms TdeC - most lucky they have a waitrose but I always though the Tristan De Cunhians had good taste.
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

Hello all & I apologise for absence - its' all sarahb's fault :p , she locks me into her SAID thread.

Moo - I'm loving the pj's & wellies look

Makeup - thank you for saying such lovely things - you can stay :D . How great about bumping into the x when looking & feeling fab - nothing wrong with a carrier full of red stripe, bet you had all the guys following you :D

Mel2500 - Thanks for that link, very funny & I did wonder whether the write had been reading my thread ;) I have to stress that I am not at all snobby or posh, I just like good manners & decent food in a clean environment :D

Moving on before I start getting all lyrical again...

I have decided that bumping into He Who... was actually his circular law karma thing in action & I'm not too proud to say that it was well deserved. This does not mean that I wont be going to the shops in anything less than a full on ballgown ensemble in the future ;) .

I spent most of saturday night under siege from the seriously distrubed one. Having sent me text offering me eggs - which i ignored - he then set about ringing at half hourly intervals. I got a feeling that a visit was imminent so we turned off all the lights & surprise surprise he drove slowly along the road like a man on his way to soho who'd lost his sat nav. Started ringing the house phone & my mobile alternately then went & parked up outside my garage at the back of the house. I was fearful that he would do something mean to my car & then I'd end up having to bury him at the allotment, but off he went again having "circled like a shark" as DD put it.

Next thing I got an email on sunday morning asking me what had happend the night before  . Now considering that the last conversation we'd had was ended abruptly by me uttering 2 words, one of which begins with F , & the other which ends with F, i would have thought it was quite obvious that what had happened was that he'd been ignored - consistently  . Alright, I never said I was with him for his brains did I :o anyway his email ended by him declaring that he wouldnt phone any more & would wait for me to make contact :j . It lasted until about 4 pm when the phone started ringing again, every 20 minutes until 7  .

Following good advice from the fabby SAID peeps I decided to email the mother to say that I thought his behaviour was rather odd, I was fed up with it & it would be a good idea if she could reassure him that when I said I would contact the police if he didnt stop, then that is exactly what I will do.

One missed call this morning while I was out & one this afternoon. I will win this battle :p.

I am very glad that i paid the 50 squids into my bank as this has allowed me to make another £50 payment off cc1 & £20 off cc2 :j . CC1 now stands at £ 3,506 & CC2 at £ 2,384. Slowly but surely it is going down.

I set off with my satchel again this morning having sadly realised that i cant skive 2 hours walking because it is now my job :( I remain optimistic that if I have to do this 2 hour walk everyday then eventually I will lose the excess stone & tone up unless I master the art of consuming vast quantities of donuts while shoving leaflets through letter boxes... a disaster waiting to happen I think, & I dont even like donuts anyway :D . Leaflet Master called me this afternoon to 'touch base' which made me 1) want to grimace a bit & 2) feel like I have a proper job :rotfl: . He is very pleased with me & when he asked if I had any problems at all I just replied that my feet hurt & I'd lied about being so fit on the application form but I guessed that wasnt what he meant  - he laughed & as he's going to pay me for getting thinnner I think I like him.

DD is having tea with a friend so I can happily sit here & do nothing except whimper until it's time for a delicious salad.

Tomorrow I'm off for my first counselling session in the afternoon so I can bore you all with that & also how much people with snappy letterboxes get on my nerves

    bye for now

It's great that you're not phased by the mad xbf Lula, but might it be worth keeping a log of all the strange behaviour, so you've got some sort of evidence should you decide that you have to go to the police at a later date?

    Thanks Mel-

I am logging all weirdness as advised . I have a large selection of emails, texts & phone calls all bizarrely suggesting that everything was hunky dory & that I have suddenly flipped. He's one step away from a white jacket with very long sleeves I think ;)

Oh god NO  Leaflet Man is not attractive in any way, shape or form + married + has business that I find 'at odds' with being DFW / MSEer :o absolutely not . He is paying me to get fitter & thinnner & keeping me off the list of the unemployed - that is all.

    Hey lovely peeps,

I'm feeling a bit drained so wont launch into the usual epic update ... do I hear sighs of relief ;)

Briefly ; after not leaving me alone I eventually decided to ring police about xbf - can hear moo saying 'about bloody time  ' I gave statement to a police woman today who has logged all the info & if he continues to pester me then he will be given a harassment order warning thing. If he then ignores that & continues he gets arrested & we go to court. I really dont want that to happen as can just imagine all the stuff he'll come out with - cringemaking :o. He called & now knows the score, not sure he'll believe me but i intend to inform the mother too so she knows it's now serious; I dont think he really gets it yet  .

Yesterday was the counselling session & it was ok ish although I did come out wondering what to focus on, but I think my mind's even more scattered than usual at the moment. I spent the grand total of £1.95 yesterday on some bread & teacakes. Today has been a NSD.

I did another hour & half of leaflets & what with an hour long interview/statement & 2 days of first jobby rolled into one I'm shattered. DD & bessfriend were little angels as usual & bessfridnes mum gave DD a bag of clothes that were now too smal - all beautiful in perfect condition & freshly laundered & ironed - I was so chuffed I nearly cried :o . DD now has enough clothes to open a shop as its not that long ago another friend gave some stuff that will fit her next year :j .

I said brief & all I now have to say is :

I want to go live in Borneo & play with a wheel barrow load of baby orang utans  that would make me very happy & for once DD agrees that's what we should do :D

    bye for now

    Hey Lula

Just a quick one - well done on getting through today. It must have been hard telling the Police about it.

Fingers crossed that he now realises his behaviour isn't acceptable and that it will have consequences for him.

    Take care!!

  • Lula, well done on telling the police - hope it means he leaves you alone now!

Great news on the clothes, I always feel really pleased, but guilty when I ge given stuff... mine usually go on ebay when DS grows out of them :o

Love the sounds of Borneo :)
