Thought I would come and lurk on your post Lula:D

There sure are some wierd men out there - I always find those that burp and fart and have the table manners of a goat (eat everything very quickly)
  • Hi Lula

What a day! Glad your leaflet man called, and it sounds as though he is pretty organised too, which has to be a bonus compared to the other job.

Firstly, thanks to both you and makeup for the reading recommendations. I have started filling the Amazon trolley (resisting the urge to run round the store raiding shelves aplenty and shedding paperbacks behind me as I run - my fantasy life aint quite what it used to be), and will let you know how I get on. I have This book will change your life but had never got round to reading it - will do so now, and read some more of the Alexander McCall Smith.

Now - to more important and immediate issues. I would feel very creepy re xbf signing up, and would feel that I was being spied on. Not nice at all, & I completely understand your disquiet. I am not sure what would happen about changing your user name - I know that on some message boards it would still track back to your older posts. Would it be worth PMing one of the board guides to ask? I agree with makeup that it really depends on whether he is likely to persist, or if it will be a 5 minute wonder (attention span of a goldfish).

In the meantime, remember that the thread botherers are standing by, ready to come to your assistance. Having spent the late afternoon talking to an estate agent who clearly believed that I was a silly little girlie, I am well prepared...[snarl!].

It won't be long, Lula...I can hear them starting a new shop now.

All of my vices are laid bare before this thread: tartes au citron, trolley dashing in Amazon, preparing a delicate saute of estate agent jugged in his own venom...

I finally had the phone call from leaflet man :j & he has been round with my new satchel :D & map with all the roads I have to cover, nicely filled in with highlighter

:j :j :j That's great news! I know you were getting a bit worried about it, it must be a great relief to know you can get some more debt busting done and just remember, every step on your route is a step close to the houseboat;)

I am elated really but since then somthing else has occurred which has completely put a downer on things. Had a call from xbf ..... no change there  but this time he told me that he's finally joined 'that money saving site with that tv presenter you were always going on about'

I actually felt sick. I asked him why & his reply was that he wanted to get close to me & check up on who I'm talking to :(

      Oh no! Lula, I really feel for you, how hideous that this creep is checking up on you! I know what you mean about feeling sick, I would feel exactly the same, makes me go hot and cold just thinking about it. I think you did exactly the right thing in saying you only read and didn't post, I think you should just keep making quite clear that this is the case or do as someone (TDQ I think) suggested, find someone who hasn't posted very much and puts fairly bland things (would suggest freebie or discount code boards). I'm sure under certain circumstances you are allowed to change your username, I have seen other people do it and one specifically said it was because other people had found out her username, if you think he might recognise it then it might be an idea to see how to do that, if it would make you feel safer and happier. It would be horrible if you felt you had to stop posting and I forbid it as we would miss you too much:D

If he cant find you he will soon get bored. What a truly alarming creep, to say he wants to check up on who you are talking to is just horrible and very stalkerish. Try not to think about it- difficult I know- and concentrate on the new job. I think until now I have found his behaviour bizzare/laughable but this new nonsense is totally unacceptable and alarming. I hope you are ok and are feeling a bit better about it now, remember that everything always works out fine in the end and we are all here if you need to PM us xxx
