    :D I have found a car :j

Well, I am very very excited as you can probably tell :j .

We went out viewing this morning & the first one was a fab price, mainly because it was pretty grubby inside & had fag burns on every single seat, so didnt go for that one. The next one was ok & the guy was asking what price we'd pay to take it then & there but I persuaded Dad to go look at the one I'd found & thought was perfect. It's the exact model I wanted ( & the colour :o ) 1 owner & only done 30,000 miles :). Although it's not due yet, the trader will service it & then it wont need another one until 48,000 miles but no doubt Dad will 'encourage' me to get it done every year. 'We' paid the deposit & we're going to collect on saturday. Dad has promised to kill me if I cant get out of it once it's in the garage, but I assured him this was why I felt a sunroof was necessary ;) .

We went to see a scrap man who would take it but not give me any money :( so I now have to try to find another. I'd rather give it away than scrap it for nothing. Trouble is with only 6 weeks left on the mot I dont think anyone will want it.

Enough about cars; I took Dad out for lunch & got a couple of bits in the shop so spent £ 25 today but it should be a NSd tomorrow - apart from buying insurance. My private customer cancelled again which is a pain, but I've kind of got used to only working for her every 2 weeks so dont include that money in my budget now.

Good luck with the school christmas stuff Moo & if you're in need of an angel costume with halo & golden wings we have one available.

I now have to go trawl through insurance quotes & do some serious calculations as I want to pay the insurance up front, I have £100 saved so will need to find another one from somewhere ...

Hi Bowski & Tea, will be more sociable tomorrow when the excitement has worn off, but thanks for chatting anyway in my absence, I really do appreciate your company & support & entertainement too ;)

    G'nite

  • Hi Lula :hello:

Congrats on the fabby new car, which one was it that you went for in the end?

Shame that your customer cancelled, that must get annoying but I hope that you enjoyed lunch.

Will catch you later on today.

Thanks for the offer Lula but i'm sure it won't be anything that straight forward. Last year all non-stage participants suitably referred to as the school choir were required to wear red t-shirts. Plain ones, without logos. SImple enough. Just wish they'd warned the local shop keepers. We're in the middle of nothingness. So 330 sets of parents in search of red t-shirts isn't something the local shops tend to keep in stock, not when ones a wine shop and the others a co-op and the rest dokebabs of dubious origins. We got 48 hours warning. White? no problem but red, plain red? Rocking horse manure would have been easier. Oh and DD2 was an elf. Obviously no where had them in stock so teeny tiny DD2s grandad helpfully purchased one and posted it over. Not entirely convinced that age 3-4 would fit he bought the next size up. DD2 was burried by it. Ended up rolling up the legs and securing them in position with seloptape and the same with the arms. She thought it was great thopugh and insited on sleeping in it. Twas a bit smelly by the end of the week and of course its dry clean only with bells on.

Supposed to be in school extra early this morning to clear up after last nights contractors beofre assembly, so I'm aiming to be on time (that'll be enough of a shock) and turn the hall heaters up to speed up the drying. Anyway as I'm already running late that getting less and less likely by the minute.

Congrats on the car find Lula.

Have fun stomping through the leaves peeps.

  • Hi Moo2,

That made me chuckle thanks. I could just imagine the whole town being swamped by parents fighting over the last red t-shirt going :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Hello :D ,

still excited about new car ( blue clio with all the extra sparkly bits Tea ;) )
& spent most of the morning sorting out insurance which I have completed through quidco ;). In the end I opted for paying over 10 months rather than in one go as I really want to give my dad a contribution towards the purchase, so will pass on the money I'd saved towards it, only £100 :o but if I manage to get anything for my old one then I'll add that too. Although it's old & not very smart looking it does have a full service history & 6 months tax on it so I've stuck it on gumtree for £200 & if it's still there in 2 weeks then I'll reclaim the tax & scrap it. New car has tax until the end of the month so no rush yet & will buy 6 months only this time then save up & buy a year in June next year. I've always hated that the tax, mot & insurance all run out at the same time - just before Christmas  so am pleased to be able to mix it up a bit.

Otherwise I'm having a NSD, have finished work & need to collect DD & bessfriend from recorder class, feed them & then take them to Brownies for 6. The home has transformed itself into a junk yard again  & I was delighted to get a charity bag through the letter box today. I know, I know I should put stuff on ebay but I found it time consuming enough just posting one ad on gumtree so really cant face the thought of doing multiple listings then having to sort out payment & postage  .

I've been doing a bit of thinking & decided that in spite of debts & having many unexpected costs this year; overall I've been quite lucky, & the two things that bugged me most were the state of the kitchen & the car. I've been very fortunate to have both replaced at little cost so have resolved to be damn grateful & crack on with debt busting for the next year with no whingeing. Feel free to slap me if I forget how lucky I am.

    bye for now

  • Oooh a Clio :) I learnt to drive in one of those.

Well done on the Quidco earnings and fingers crossed your old car will sell for what you want.

As for debt busting next year and whinging...so what? You're allowed to whinge, everyone does at some point so you won't get any slaps from this direction...now if it had been chocolate that would have been a different matter all together :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi just a quick & rather excited update. I went through quidco this morning to do a car insurance search & then bought insurance & the money has already tracked so I've got myself £47.30 back & my total earnings now stand at £49.66 :j . I absolutely cant believe it but I'm very happy. Trying to think what else I can buy now & cant wait to renew contents insurance ;) .

I've also had an enquiry about the car - 'is there any rust ?' cheek - it's a banger not a rust bucket  .

Right, got to collect DD from Brownies,

    Lula
