Good morning,
thanks to Moo2 for mexican tips& the school always state that it is a voluntary contribution & they are having real life mexicans visiting the school & doing loads of stuff but I do wonder why parents with 2 children in the school only have to pay £3 for the second child, will they only get to do some of the activities
. I'd never thought of giving change before - will raid DDs various small change money pots
.
I've picked up a good load of work from private customer so that's a good thing, did have to buy £10 of fuel as needle definitely in the red zone . Paid £120 off cc2 - (sneaked £20 out of saving fund as I just cant bear to only pay the minimum) picked up DDs new recorder book - £6.50 & popped into waitrose ( free parking to do all other bits) for bread - 79p reduced & cheese £3.77. I also thought it would be a good idea to pay the council tax for November  .
Thanks for the job encouragement Tea but I can assure you you wont be getting rid of me that easilyI like it here :j .
Anyway going to update my sig now & then get on with some work,
bye for now & hope everyone has a good day

You're sig is coming down very nicely Lula. Hope the extra work from your private customer continues.
I braved Mr. Ts yesterday in and amongst everything else. The checkout scanners were in a good mood and accepted all my Tesco mailshot coupons including the 1/2 price 3 satge sauce thing, does anyone actually buy that stuff? end result £5.32 off my bill. Packs of 5 lunch box sized organic biscuits reduced from £2.60 to 26p. DDs should be sick of those by January. Have to go back there though, bought lots of pulses and wot not including a bag of pine nuts which were on the shelf at 90p and scanned at £4.89 bet thats my fault not theres though.
Have been too busy doing paperwork for PTA, house is once again disasterous and worse still it looks like we're having the damp proofing done in the front room later this week so that means emptying the furniture out as well as dealing with any resulting mess and wosre still means we have to remove the fire so will have minimal heat downstairs for the next 2 weeks. Will have to use central heating instead which uses LPG and is currently somewhere very close to 50p per litre Eeek.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Hello,
I've had a very very frustrating day today ; Dad & I arranged to meet here at 9.30 to go & view cars at 10. So, I braved the rush hour traffic in order to deliver back to private customer & got home by 9.27; waited for Dad , waited some more, waited until 10.30 then rang Dad who had in his mind that we were meeting at 2.00  . Re-arranged for tomorrow morning as I dont usually start work til 11.30 on thurs. Then my workmate rang to say Boss wants to drop extra work off at 9 tomorrow  . I should be pleased but apparently it's only because her 'cheaper' workers are on holiday this week, I'm also a bit miffed that she couldnt be bothered to ring me herself. I feel like saying 'sod off & do it yourself' but that would be very silly as I do need the money & she bloody knows it as she's been taking work off me for the last 2 weeks grrrrr. Debt makes me feel so powerless & I hate that .
Rant over now.
I've had a no spend day today & should be one tomorrow too. We're out of potatoes which is a pain as I needed them for the planned meal tomorrow but I just dont have time to go to the allotment so will do an alternative instead. Having the meal plan is really working as there's none of that ' what shall we eat tonight ?' & then going to local co op to buy something. I keep the menu in the kitchen & just cook what it says I have to cook on that day. Simple & yet very effective. I now cant believe that a few weeks ago I was struggling to spend less than £50 each week on groceries  .
I'm ashamed to say I still havent yet replaced all the stuff that was moved for the kitchen refurbishment. Our home is always littered with piles of stuff to be dealt with & bags of stuff to be sold or go to charity shops. I've also been slowly removing all the stuff that usually lives in the car which has filled another 2 bags. You know the kind of stuff; jump leads, de-icer, sunshades, rags, plasters & calpol, loo roll, map books, spare shoes & make up, stones & sticks collected on walks ... Never mind something safer & economical, I just need my spare room back  .
I do hope you got your money back for the pine nuts Moo2, I have noticed in tesco's that I often pick things up which appear to be reduced or on offer, only to discover at the till that actually it was another item  . I am sure this is deliberate & strategic label placing & that they hope people dont actually check their till receipts & discover they're being conned. Call me paranoid & cynical but I just dont trust them. When I go early in the morning sometimes a whole group of staff are having their meetings in the middle of the shop & I often try to lurk & eavesdrop but they always disperse ... very suspicious.
So tired I can just about make it to the sofa to watch desperate housewives, so bye for now

Morning Lula,
Sorry that your car hunting didn't go as planned yesterday, hopefully you'll be able to get something sorted today.
I can understand your frustration with your boss, she has got a cheek! But as you say you need the money and that can be a bit of a bind sometimes.

A very tired & despondent hello,
I've had loads of work & like very sensible Tea says I just have to grit my teeth & get on with the job. So I've done extras today & thankfully earned more than the last 3 weeks so can keep up the debt repayment which is the main thing  .
Dad arrived early & we went off to view cars & We found one which is just perfect apart from the lack of service history. It's low mileage & has all the necessary safety features to make it sensible & all the sparkly bits to make it desirable so now I'm just hoping that service history can be found.
I completely forgot that DD has to take indian food into school tomorrow so we had to do a quick trip to the local co op & bought a couple of curries & some naan bread for £5.52. Then discovered that one of the children has a nut allergy so curries are no good for school ... but will be fine for our meal tomorrow night. When we did our meal plan we decided that because DD has swimming on fridays that we would have quick easy food like bought pizza or similar, it's a shame the school can only have the naan bread  .
DD has her outfit all sorted & DD1 came over yesterday & brought the sombrero with her so we're on target for that too & I'm going to create some kind of poncho type thing to go with it.
The glass gazebo / greenhouse thing that has been sat in my shed for a year is getting on my nerves now & when I last spoke to xbf he said his mum wanted it. He came over to measure it up & then got very stroppy because I was working & wouldnt pay him any attention so stormed out purposely knocking over all the work I'd completed & mixing up all the customers orders  I honestly didnt know whether to kill him with my bare hands or cry like a baby. I opted for advising him to never come here again & have now decided to burn / smash the greenhouse & deliver the remnants to his front garden :rotfl:
I've been doing surveys & was very miffed to get screend out of one that would have earned me 500 pointsbut I now have 2280 lightspeed ones so should be able to get a couple of presents with that
.
I'm planning on doing a food shop tomorrow & then if the weather's good will go to the allotment.
Off to find a hammer & matches now....

Oh Lula, hes a complete !!!!. Might I suggest placing his meat & 2 veg in a blender, a variation on a Bobbitt who merely hacked off the thing. The fella just doesn't know when to get stuffed.
Glad to hear you've found a car you like. Lack of service history isn't great but if you're dealing with a car dealer you should be able to talk them into extending their warranty from 3 months to a year or knocking £x off the price to compensate for that. Especially if its around 60-70,000 miles as it will be due a cam belt change, ask if thats been done. Its usually enough to scare the pants off them that you a mere girly know what a cam belt is and that it'll be a £600 job and is obviously enough to deter you from purchsing the car as you've seeen another one locally with a full service history which has had the cam belt done bla bla bla. Obviously you'd be happy to settle for them doing a complete service prior to you taking it with any parts required being at their expense.
Meanwhile back on planet Moo its been another money hemorhaging week. £5 snack money on monday, £30 for a duvet on tuesday, £85 on food weds and £65 for coal for the next 2 weeks. £52 on a petrol lantern (no electricity again), £9 lunch out yesterday, £2 lightbulb for desk lamp, £11 chocolate from Tesco (with 2 free £15 Green and Blacks recipe books as x-mas gifts), £72 for car tyres (which I've been avoiding since July) and £3.50 for wine and a treat for the DDs from the village shop late last night after going back to work to lock up after a function. Next week can't possibly be as bad.
Enjoy your curry!Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Aww Lula hun :grouphug: as Moo2 says he's a w!!!!r; can you please take some pictures of xbf and of the greenhouse when you have destroyed it and delivered it? I would love to see the look on his face. Goes to show you are better off without his childish behaviour.
Moo2 - don't worry about your NS week, I've been the same spent more than I intended and had no NSD at all. Must be something in the air.

Morning all,
Aha Moo2 you'll be very proud of me - I already know about the cam belt thing & did mention itThe car has actually only done 35,000 which is just fab & why I'm not so bothered about the service history & car man said when he gets it mot'd will check for cam belt
. I'm being a little bit choosy about the car as am viewing it as something that will need to be changed in 4 - 5 years ( gives me time to save up again  ) & as I usually only do about 5,000 miles a year am thinking that in 5 years time it will still only have done 60,000 & if a high spec model ( get me & the lingo
) should still be worth a decent amount as a trade in. to your money leakage, need to put a large plaster on it.
I've just done my tesco shop & very pleased to only have spent £35 & as well as plenty of food for the week got a few bits like nuts & tree chocolates too. I did get a bit carried away with buying bread that on the shelf said 3 for £2.50 & then when I just checked the receipt turns out it wasnt  Very annoying as I also have no room left in the freezer but really cant be bothered to do a 6 mile round trip to moan again. I've mangaed to put something into all the funds apart from the dentist & clothes one & have £30 toward the next barclaycard payment. I think I'll pay into into the bank then I can do a weekly transfer like I do with capitalone, havent yet worked it out but I'm sure that will help to reduce the interest. I really need to try again with PPI reclaiming & should also request a reduction in interest but the homestead is a tip & I have unopened letters still, I just never seem to get on top of things.
Re the xbf - he called this morning to apologise & then said he'd finally got an appointment to have his wisdom teeth out. 'Oh that's brilliant' I said, he thought I was being nice & said 'not really' 'Oh but it is' I insisted, 'because it's really gonna f***ing hurt' :rotfl: & hung up.
Well, I feel quite chirpy now so going to pay money in to the bank & then venture out into the garden to attempt some clearing up .
Thanks for your support guys, you always cheer me up :A
bye for now

Good for you, that really made me chuckle :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Wow Lula I'm impressed. Lets hope the Ex gets the message. It would be extremely mean of you to slip his dentist a fiver to extend his visit to the chair for as long as possible whilst demonstrating his collection of antique dental equipment, perhaps a fiver and a box of chocolates would be in order.
Your soon to be new car sounds lovely and at 35,000 miles I wouldn't give a monkeys about the service history, hope you mangage to part-ex your car for it.
I'm having a significanlty better day today. Tea towels arrived at school and they are fab. Not only that but the company we've used has sent 5 freebies and all the rejects, some of which are only grubby so should wash out ok. Have used the better rejects as samples on schools noticeboards and will sort out the other rejects as x-mas pressies for the relatives for a small donation to school.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
