Pesky2, go through a manned checkout then - no problem.

  • re the title has Tesco's officially stopped coupons. Has anyone in say the last fortnight contacted Tescos HO for the official policy email on vouchers and if so, what was the outcome ? If the response from HO is the same as before maybe it is worth keeping a copy of their response to show if you are challenged.

I am very fortunate, I can usually use my vouchers even if I do not buy the products and I have made considerable savings. This is one reason I do not shop on-line at Tescos. If I go to my local store I can have say £15 off my bill each time.

  • It's about time Tesco got their act together about vouchers!!
Last week the girl took £7 worth with out blinking!!

This week the supervisor said you can only use then if you buy the product!

Then the girl promptly put three through and nothing was said!as I had a go at the supervisor!

    Madness!!

We should start a capaign and tell Tesco HQ that all the members on MSE are going to boycott their store if they don't make their voucher policy clear nationwide!!

    Angry from Hove!!

I should think they would shout HURRAH as they dont make much profit out of us, what with vouchers and misprices.

Not sure if this is the right thread for this but I used a paper card today and didn't get a spit voucher for the 150 points.

  • Had a nightmare of a day today at Tescos. I spent about £60 of which £57 was on clothes - I handed the cashier a few higher value vouchers eg the Esquire one in the Times £2.95 off, £2.00 off She etc and several lower value vouchers and the £10 off a £50 spend. All the vouchers were taken off apart from the £10 one which would not scan through - saving me quite a few bucks on original cost. Anyway, a supervisor was called who saved the transaction and told me to pay at CS. Off I truddled to CS only to be told yes we will scan the £10 off your clothing voucher but no to the others. So I said look the cashier has just accepted them and was willing to take them, she said in her store it was not the policy as it had been changed. Usually, I would have grumbled but no today with raging PMT I stood my ground. I referred them to an email that I received regarding their voucher policy, when she still refused I told her to phone Tesco HO so I could hear them say the "new" policy. Anyway, she backed down and said OK on this one occasion yes I will let you use the vouchers. What a song and dance - I really wish they would be consistent. If that had been my usual store I would not have had any trouble at all.

I was in my Tesco today and handed in a sainsburys £4 off £40 spend plus all the coupons I cut out of the Sainsburys magazine, something like £16 worth and she took them all. My bill came down from £76 to £45, I was very pleased :) Have just gone up to Sainsburys to buy some more copies of their magazine.
