Tesco's Officially Stopped Coupons????

I normally shop at Asda, but decided to go further out to and try out Tesco's. I know Asda takes 10% of coupons as does Tesco's.
At the checkouts, I offered the cashier several manufacturing coupons, he tried scanning them but the tills just beeped. NONE of the coupons went through and has been told there coupon policy has now changed. Coupons are only accepted if the product has been bought.
The coupons cannot be taken at the discretion of the cashier either as in Asda, because the tills just wont accept them.
Anyone knows when the policy was changed. I ended up over buying as I did not expect my bill to be as high as it was. Wished i went to Asda. I'd had saved on petrol, saved on coupons, saved on shopping (found tesco's more expensive than Asda), and saved on time.
This Tesco Extra is in Leyland, nr Preston, Lancashire.

I used my usual vouchers at Tesco yesterday with no problem whatsoever.

Maybe that was just a local thing? I don't know what I'm going to do if they change their tills not to accept vouchers everywhere...  :eek:0 -
Yesterday was no problem for me either. Hopefully it was only a local store issue, but if anyone else has a problem post on this page. There is no need to run outside

Hello,
We used vouchers no problem in Tesco's yesterday.
In the past the till has beeped when they have started to scan vouchers, but once they scan a Clubcard it seems ok.
I use a Tesco Credit Card. In my case they have to scan the credit card, as my Clubcard first, and then scan the vouchers, then it normally doesnt beep again.
Dont know if this could have been the problem?0 -
I guess the other question for Fad1211 is did she have problems in that store previously or was it only today? There is no need to run outside

I used £12.00 worth of vouchers today at my local store in Barry, South Wales. Somedays I am lucky but other days the cashier refuses to take them without even trying to scan them. It is the luck of the draw each time !
I am the only Voucher Queen in my village LOL

I never use coupons on items I've not bought. I know a lot of you do it, but I think it is just wrong.0

My local Asda will now only accept vouchers if you have purchased the product. If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' someone else's dog around!0 -

This has happened to me too, although it's scary to think that your coupons aren't welcome unless you have a Clubcard.
Fad 1211- was your clubcard scanned at the time? And had you actually bought any of the products on the coupons? If you had, and they were refused too, then maybe the cashier was at fault and needed to press a button to accept the coupons.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
