Get down to Sussex because I used £28 worth of vouchers in the Hove branch of Tesco's!!
I must admit I went through five different checkouts including the self-service ones!
What the heck, its all about cutting down your weekly out goings and all the vouchers were free from the current Somerfield mag! £15 in the Nov issue!
Smile sweetly at the checkout and say could you check these for me sweetheart! Works a treat for me!
The secret is not to put too many through but do it lots of times!
Don't forget your not being cheap the supermarkets get all the money back from the central coupon distribution centre at NCH Marketing Services Ltd Corby!!
Don't forget, Those who jump off a bridge in Paris are in Seine.

I went to Tesco in Weston-super-Mare yesterday and tried to use coupons. I got told that the new policy is to only accept 1 coupon for something you have not bought.
She put 2 through for me but said in future only 1 or buy the products.
Cna anyone confirm this 'new' policy??
OOOOhhhhh..... on another note, we now have self scan machines so may be able to get some though on them now :j2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0 -
I used 17 coupons today in my local store, I used a couple as I normally do and politely asked what is the maximum, I recieved the reply that I have always wanted to here "as many as you want", I got nearly £9 off a shop of £25.0

the cashier needs to press total - so it takes of any BOGOFS etc first. If the vouchers beeps then they haven't yet pressed total.
I know this as i have a little chap - used to to be the instore butcher before mr T took over - who hates his job on the tills and takes great pleasure in me giving him vouchers. He got upset when one day they wouldn't go through- so he called a supervisor over - she told him that they have to press total first.
Hope this helps!0 -
Tesco do not have a national policy, each store manager make up his/her own mind whether to accept coupons and if so how many and whether you need to buy the product. These conditions can be changed locally on a whim. Judging by the wildely differing conditions at various ASDA stores I guess the situation is the same there also.
I'm very lucky that my local Tesco will take one coupon for any product it sells without you having to buy the item and will take up to three coupons for any product you have bought.
For the last year I have put £5-6 of coupons through for a £30-40 shop they never scan so I always go to the same checkout cos she is fast as manually inputting the codes. When she sees me coming she goes like this ( ).

No, I did not have my clubcard with me at the time. Forgot it at home, but did use the temporary ones.
It looks as if that could have been the problem, but doesn't seem fair does it???? What if someone does not have a clubcard but only has a truck load of coupons. Does that mean no clubcard, no coupons accepted???0 -
Yep, I was told only taking 1 coupon for something that you haven't bought from now, Tesco Bognor, 2 different days and different "extremely pleasant" checkout operators. How do they get away with being so b&^*($ rude, as a waitress in a very grotty pub at uni, I got hauled over for a lot less, and below minimum wage (OFT I know)0

I find that part of the problem in tescos generally is individual checkout assistants interpretation of the 'rules' - I've had several recently saying 1 coupon only - rather than 1 of each coupon you haven't bought. On one occasion complained to the duty manager and she got the customer service lady to scan the coupons and give me the cash (after the customer service lady had refused to see there was a problem just a little while earlier
).
One thing I would say with using coupons OP is see the money you save as a bonus - I personally wouldn't spend any more because I have a few pounds of coupons with me which I am going to try and get off my shopping at the end - you might get a stroppy/ ill informed checkout assistant or have a problem like today and then you end up paying more than you intended to/or can afford. I love the savings I make with coupons but realise they're not a certainty by any means.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Used coupons in both Tesco and Asda this weekend without any problems. It definitely is a hit or a miss here as to which cashier takes them though. Any taken is a bonus. If I had known then what I know now . . .

Tesco's at Stafford and Cannock will only accept one coupon for an item you havent brought, which is annoying as they don't care if you've spent £5 or £100.0
