you have to buy clothes though i have heard of people spending over £50 which enables all the coupons to go through thus giving you £25 off....
if it doesnt fit when you get home then get a refund from customer service for the full amount..... hth0 -
I'm a newbie to all of this - just to get this right, you can use coupons to get money off, even though you haven't bought the item that the coupon is for?
How is that possible?!0 -

Because Tesco's wants your business they can then reclaim the coupon values, it's wrong really but i'm not complaining.0 -

You have to buy the clothes as they are Tesco specific, however I have used the vouchers by combining them and mixing them with other vouchers. I found though that the £10 off a £50 spend doesn't scan for some reason
so I go to Customer services with my receipt and they give me a nice crisp £10.

Hi and welcome to MSE firstly.
Tescos will usually take vouchers as money off your shopping even if you do not buy the items but as long as they stock it. However, Tesco stores and the acceptance of vouchers is very inconsistent. Therefore, consider it a bonus if you can use them BUT not an automatic right. You will come across some cashiers who will refuse your vouchers and some who basically don't care !! Look for the younger cashiers, be polite and friendly - I usually get my money off every week.
Good Luck :rotfl:

Unfortuantely that happens sometimes, tomorrow is another day so try them again. I had the same problem just before Christmas when alot of my vouchers had an expiry date of 31/12/05 and I wanted to use them up. I did eventually but I had to keep trying.

My local Tesco Extra takes them but some cashiers stick to the 10% rule which is ok but agonising sometimes watching them work out how much 10% is!!! Then laboriously adding up your coupons to make sure it's the right amount. As someone said young lads are usually your best bet for taking loads. My other two nearest Tescos don't take them or haven't on the few occasions I've tried one's an Extra, one's a normal store (without clothes).
I was in Sainsburys today though, and spending about £50 (some good 70% off bargains) so gave the guy my coupons, he asked if I'd bought the items, I said yes (hadn't bought them!) so he scanned them all no probs. That was just over 10% of the bill. I guess if you're spending a reasonable amount in JS it's worth trying and maybe buy one thing you've got a coupon for if poss as a red herring.0 -
Just a quick q:
Does Tesco accept food coupons for non-food items, such as CDs, DVDs etc?
thanks!0
