Got my card this morning (not the reader), so still awaiting a pin and card reader. Ten days since I applied and 6 weeks since I first applied on line

If I don't get the rest in the next few days, I'll be calling them to firmly ask them to send them to me to arrive the next day ... worth a try

does any one know, if the pin and card come first can other card readers be used with them as a mate of mine has one from natwest and if others can be used as well, may ask to borrow hers, i ordered mine on the 6th and have yet to receive any of them

Yes Anna, other people on here have successfully used card providers from other companies.

We opened our account back in July but we weren't aware we needed a card reader until sometime later when I went to add a payee. I waited 36 days for mine and was told there was a technical problem with a new system. Seems like they haven't sorted it out then!

I ended up telling them that if I didn't get one PDQ then I would close the account, and there was quite a bit in it (joint account) as we'd sold our house. I was unable to get our deposit for the house we were buying out and the second person I spoke to, a very nice lady, was very apologetic and very helpful, went to check if there was a card reader "in stock". She said there was and said she would post it Special Delivery to arrive the next day, which she did.

Sorry to say that ten days isn't enough to complain, I think it says on the website that it's up to 14 days, then when you chase it they say 14 working days  . However, once that time limit is up you could ring and ask if one has been sent and if not request one Special Delivery as you desperately need one.

Hope you get it sorted soon.

Thanks TomsMum. Sounds as if Tesco were very successful in adding to an already stressful situation for you  Glad you got it sorted in the end.

It's actually 10 working days since I applied and I'll leave it until the 15 working days are up before kicking up a fuss.

BTW I haven't forgotten your kind offer re. the card reader icon7.gif

They really don't know their @rse from their elbow, do they :rotfl:

Same with us Anna. They should all come within a day or two of each other. Maybe give it until beginning of next week but then again, if people ring them up and point out that things aren't being sent when Tesco say perhaps they'll look at their system and get things sorted!

i have ended up ringing them, as due to unforseen circumstances (aka a car accident the other week) i need to withdraw asap. apparently the card should come before the pin, but there is sometimes "dispatch errors" which means its the other way round, theyve said to give them a ring if ive not got it by wednesday, and luckily theyve allowed me an over the phone withdraw due to the fact i am still awaiting the card, and money should be with me on monday

Yippee ... card reader arrived this morning AND within the time allocated :j. Just added a new payee, so I can now withdraw to my current account if need be.

Had a few problems enabling the card reader and spoke to a lovely lady. Spent a while informing her of all the problems we've been having and especially the fact that it's not made clear that a reader, card and pin are required. She promised she'd bring this to the attention of her supervisor and would reiterate what I said to her.

    Worth a try ...
