  • Morning all waiting for the repairmen from the council to fix my bedroom window. I have a morning appointment alledgedly. Made the children get up extra early this morning getting them ready for when they go back to school tomorrow. My DD aged 2 has just had her first bout of pins and needles in her arm after laying on it whilst watching Dora.
washings on line and dinners prepared. and there goes the door the council i presume .
  • Morning everyone, I intend contributing to this thread more BTW!!

I can't believe it is eleven years since Princess Diana was killed, seems like yesterday to me.

Yesterday we went to the free Bournemouth Air Show, it was very good, although the sky was overcast all day. For anyone interested, the dates have been announced for 2009 already 20th-23rd August.

Today we are having a lazy day, getting school stuff ready, my youngest DD has got all her old uniform which still fits so she will go back to school in this, my eldest has got a new bag and shoes, loads of new tights and had her blazer dry cleaned. She just wants a new pencil case, from Paperchase of all places.

We will make some carrot and corainder soup in the slow cooker and look for some blackberries to pick down the road.

    HAGD everyone:j

    Morning all !
Lovely day today and not as 'sticky' as yesterday. Didn't have the rainfall forecast but it did rain last night for a bit.
OH's stomach upset seems to have gone...........well he's hoping. Best day so far for him.
Youngest lad has gone off fishing (another £1 for the dreaded maggots !!! ) and at some point in time when I can tear the older one away from his girlfriend and talk some sense into him he may just ring up and apply for his JSA (he said hed already done this on his mobile.........never did believe him and seems I was right!)

Have a good day and hugs ((((((((:o )))))))))) to those who need them

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. :A CM DH is snoring  I'll have to go and wake him up if I want dessert. :D

DD just rang and had a long chat. I'm going out with her & 3 of her friends later in the month at the Gold Coast. I hope I can behave. :D I forgot to mention earlier (if you are faint hearted look away now) :p I saw my first snake today so the weather is definately getting warmer. It was under the front steps sunning itself. :D

CM My sentiments exactly. ;) Have a little nap in the arv.

  • Little bear is in his playpen and wails are getting more spaced out and shorter. He was a little ghost when I took him up - all big sunken eyes. I am supposed to be going over to the health centre to pick up my repeat prescription. They would take one look at the poor mite and whisk him away for emergency cuddles. I am not one to keep fussing a little one, because sometimes they need a bit of space to get to sleep. I don't like being prodded every five minutes and asked if I am asleep yet, so I don't expect little bear does either. However, even this heartless and cruel mother has been up and down with him since 7.30 last night. He is not being bad, he is just being a toddler and he has been wanting lots and lots of cuddles, which aren't really a hardship. :o

Dear heart bought a tefal 4 in 1 thingy on Saturday, so it got used yesterday (of course). We used the rice cooker and it was fantastic, with tomato puree, a little oil and some onion added and cooked in stock not water. I have a bowl of it left over for lunch - can you freeze it? The proportions seem very large, and dear heart was cooking and didn't feel able to scale down. I am not saying it would feed a regiment, but I am sure that the regimental band would not feel underfed. Dear heart threw a lot away ()

Cottage pie for tea if I can work out how to use the stick blender that dear heart thought was a good idea to replace the big Moulinex food processor. I need to get the cold beef minced up.

Congratulations to Aussie Lass. I hope you have a lovely day. Is next year a pearl anniversary? Could be a chance to get a nice treat!

Hardup Hester - there was a thread where a member of MSE didn't pay her rent and was deemed intentionally homeless even though she was mentally ill at the time and had consultant's letters to prove that paying the rent and being that organised with money would have been impossible for her. There were loads of other extenuating circumstances as well. They appealed the decision - and lost! I think it was Mumoftwins. I don't think your SIL will be lucky. I suspect that she doesn't realise how common repossessions are. Many many years ago in the last housing crash there could be as many as 120 on one list at the court, all to be heard before lunch time, twice a month. This was a central court, but I don't think it was unrepresentative. I don't think it is going to be hugely better now. So there are lots of repossessions and hardly any council houses. And if anyone has in any way contributed to their own predicament they are not going to be looked at sympathetically.

    Another long post :o

Hugs to all especially those not sleeping.
