Lame Wolf - sending lots of de-stressing (((hugs))) your way. Just concentrate on the time when it will all be over and you are back at home having a cuppa.

Well, the weather has turned all blustery but it has dried the washing. I shall have to get it in before the rain which is threatening.

RedRuby - I hope you are taking it easy!

No more news; this is an unusually short post for me!

    See you later.

    Afternoon!

Took dd2 and her friend into local town as I wanted to grab some cheap aubergines and courgettes and onions from Lidl, dd1 and dd3 came with us as well - pocket money day today!

Got home and cooked some of the veg with a can of toms, herbs and garlic and pureed it, huge vat of tom sauce, did enormous quantity of pasta and mixed together, had some for lunch and will freeze the rest in portions for ready meals.

Kids having sausages tonight so best grab some out of the freezer in a bit, and chop the potatoes up ready for chips or wedges, whichever they prefer today!

Lazing on the sofa with dd3, she's been making playdoh animals and I have to guess what they are lol! Did get a bit stumped when she'd made a playdoh sock monkey!!!

Going to have a nice cuppa and a turkish delight in a bit then will hopefully find enough energy to dig out my uniform and get it ironed!

Redruby - pleurisy is nasty, take good care of yourself.

Lamewolf - good luck with your appointment and I hope you start to feel less woolly soon.

    xx

  • Hi again

Have trawled through my freezer, it's full of stuff that I must use up. Problem is, I get very stuck in a rut and since this weight loss thing with Paul McKenna, I just don't eat so much.

Have picked over the chicken and frozen the meat thats left. The carcass I've put in the SC for stock with some garlic, herbs and spring onions that need using up. Little cat was delighted with what he had and DS ate a fair ammount too before I could get it into the freezer. Have been through the fridge. Have frozen the left-over Moja sauce with some cooked chopped leftover aubergines. It will go really well with pasta.

LAMEWOLF hope you feel less stressed soon.
DORRY September is my favourite month too, I get really excited about the harvest, always have done since I was a kid. Just love the way the air smells and we get the beach back to ourselves :D .

OH is in bed at the mo as he's on nights. Need to get down to the allotment when he wakes up and harvest some onions.

well I've done some cleaning. been to Asda and spent more than l should have, but there was a lot of monthly stuff, so should only need fresh foods from now and till pay day. did loads of washing. hung it out and then had to rescue it from the torrential rain. however its has brightened up so I have hung it back up again. Can't imagine that it will fully dry, but will finish it off in TD...yeah there I've said it. I use a TD ;) but only as little as possible. I just don't have enough radiator space or for that matter any heat in the radiators since the heating is off, to get it all dried.

    home made lasagne for tea.

Today, seeing as it's the first of the month, i decided to sort through both my indoor freezer and my outdoor chest freezer and do an inventory. Anything to be used within the week came and stayed in the indoor freezer, and anything that we wouldn't be using within the week went outside to the chest freezer.

We also did an inventory of the cupboards (although didn't include EVERYTHING like spices etc - just things like rice, pasta, tinned stuff), and i've managed to compile a list of meals for the next week, and only have to buy a couple of odds and ends (which i've just sent the OH out for ;) ).

    If anyone's interested, here's the list :)

OOOOMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!! I've just gone to c+p into here and managed to delete the lot

It's going to take me forever to do it again :(

(i'll try and do it again and post later - still can't believe i've done it! grrr!!!)
  • on a walk to my in laws this morning i noticed someone on the estate is selling off thier allotment extra produce. cabbages 30p each and beetroot 30p a pound. will have to find a way of incorporating those into the meal plan for this week;) .

its tiddling it down here again, and i missed getting my washing in as i was getting DS from school when it started:mad: .

glad you got your water back poppy

  • Well I haven't posted for a couple of days, so I've missed birthdays and whatnot - happy anniversary Aussielass although I reckon it was yesterday for you by now (I have a clock which is set to SA time as my best friend lives in Adelaide). (((((hugs))))) to those that need them, Redruby get well soon!

Had rather an odd weekend, Saturday of course no MSE so I played an (old) computer game and DH got sucked into playing it too. Then that night he decided to watch tv in bed until 3am, so I spent some time trying to sleep on the couch downstairs - not a good move. But he's been warned of the consequences if he does it again! Anyway we're friends again now.

There was supposed to be a family meeting here yesterday but two family members didn't turn up so we couldn't go ahead (all our "children" are adults). One had already cried off for Friday and it had had to be rescheduled. We've still heard nothing from either of them, not even to apologise for not turning up or phoning to say they couldn't make it. GRRRRR!

I am off to cook James Martin's sweet spicy sticky ribs recipe, a firm favourite here, done with slices of belly pork instead of ribs because it's cheaper.

Hope everyone has a pleasant evening! More ((((hugs)))), please help yourselves. Pick your own! :D

    afternoon all,

I have been taking it easy I promise, i really dont feel up to doing much at all, dd hoovered through downstairs for me, I did mop the kitchen floor, but that was only because dd had spilt some juice and it was sticky, I put a load in the machine and dd hung it out, she has also peeled the spuds and done the veg, and is now cooking the dinner with me supervising, she has been an :A today, have started on my tablets so will hopefully be on the mend soon.

    Lamewolf, good luck for tomorrow
