i stopped as the health visitor said he was too little, but i've restarted again this week, he's just had some sweet potato in with his baby rice and wolfed it down, and slept for about 2 hours this afternoon. he has been just doing short cat naps previously, so i am going with my instincts and stuff the health visitor, afterall it isn't her dealing with 2 under 2s after being up in the night,

i know all is a phase that will pass, and it is already loads easier. i feel better for having had some time to do something i wanted even if it was sit on here all afternoon ;)

sexymouse meant to say earlier that everything happens for a reason, and something better is meant for you - you just don't know it yet

:TGo with what you feel is best for your children and your right it doesn't matter what the HV says, it's not them having to cope with sleepless nights and 2 under 2's 24/7.
HV's today would have 40 fits at what I have done with mine in the past. DS1 was on baby rice at 8 weeks ish. Only a bit but he was so hungry, not sleeping and I was so tired I didn't know what to do with myself. But it worked, so he obviously needed it and so did I. Did the same with DS2 and DD2 as well.

As for DS2, well being my third he really did have the rough end of it:rolleyes: I used to wrap his bottle in a muslin nappy and stick it in the airing cupboard so I didn't have to wait for it to warm up:eek: I know I'm a very bad mother:o

I bet pigpen knows a few shortcuts as well;)

Glad you had a bit of 'me' time this afternoon though.

Cake cooking, tea cooking, rain pouring again.

Ebay sale collected - a nice £22 cash which is well appreciated this week.

I need to zip DS3 to the library after tea to get his reading challenge stickers as it finishes tomorrow and then it will be bath and bed.

OH promised to be home early to take DS2 to Tany So Do

I need to go in the garden in the rain to pick some beans and sweetcorn.

We have big blackberry bushes at work just outside of the gates. Where they are its the back wall of the pub. Ive seen people recently picking them. Had to go out and say that the men come out late at night and p** on there.
.

That's why you should never ever EVER pick blackberries that are lower than waist height - not just people from the pub but dogs too!

Evening all

Poohbear – big hugs and ‘get well’ vibes to DS

Dusty – fresh pineapple upside down cake is FAR superior to any made with tinned stuff. Have you spoken to your Nan yet?

Boddy – big hugs – when you have to be strong and firm at work, sometimes it’s hard
being the one taking charge with your children and being strong over their situations as I well know! Wishing you calming soothing vibes and your DD success with the management plan.

Mudbath – I think everyone cast out your back demon and it ended up with me!

My back has been very painful all day - threatening to sieze up every now and then. So has my ankle. I turned it at work yesterday. It hurt at the time but settled down. This afternoon, it's started twinging again. Looking at it, it's a bit swollen so that'll be my excuse for minimal flying this evening - I need to rest and elevate it :D My knees are also twinging but that may be the aftermath of the dancing at the ball last weekend. But, it could all be to do with current weather conditions. I'm wondering if we're coming into an unseasonal cold snap - the animals can't get enough food at the moment - that's always a sign that the weather's on the turn.

But, I'd better go and hobble to the freezer and dig out some lamb chops. I think I know how Pigpen feels at the moment!

Hi all

So Ive not done much today-a bit of a tidy up some washing in and a small tescos shop.
Friend came round for playdate and asked me to do cake for DD birthday on the 13th. Had a squizz through my books and decided on a combination of two cakes. Since the sugarpaste can be done early I might get onto the decs (since Im merry on irish cream:rotfl:) tonight. Looking forward to that as her DD is in nursery so I might start to build a reputation:j
Got a call from the agent today regarding the job. Didnt get it but the HR manager asked if she could hold back my cv for a position she thought I might find challenging (holding thunbs).
Not much as else to tell-hope you all had a good day and that kids are huppy at school. Hugs all round too

The kids have pushed me too far, the little gits (well DS2 got caught) have been pooing outside:eek: then there was the peeing in their room a couple of days ago. So tomorrow when they are all at school every single toy is being taken away (to big shed) and they can flipping well earn them back.      I have had enough.

Right there all in bed and told not to dare get up unless they have to go to the toilet, so i'm gonna get on with the bathroom.

Back later to update.......

• I dont know what you mean by 'worth it' - everybody's expectations/needs are different - me, I ebay anything and everything - every penny is a prisoner!! maybe you need to look at similar otems and see what they have went for to get an idea. somepeople think its not 'worth it' if they dont make £10 profit on each thing - like I say that part is really up to you - sometimes the carp surprises you and you get far more than expected.

Denise - pop over to the ebay board think theres a link to an "ebay calculator" on there where you can put all the info like the weight of the parcel, how much your charging for postage, how much your starting the item at, what you think it will end at etc... and it works out your true "profit". Then you'll know if its worth it..... cos the fees etc can take a big chunk of what initially looks like a healthy amount... i know i just ended up with £3.90 actual profit on my 5 items i sold after ebay fees, paypal fees and postage ......even though £12.86 went into my paypal account for them 5 sales.

This is why I have a flat postage rate.. it is on the listings from the start and if the buyer doesn't want to pay it.. tough.. don't bid!
Little things.. £2.50 .. medium sized things/tops/jumpers/trousers etc £3.50 and heavier items, coats/shoes etc £5.. big heavy items I increase it accordingly..

Thanks Guy's - this info is brilliant! I don't mind getting 50p for something as I know I'm not going to make a fortune, but just wondered about going to the post office, paying postage, paypal, ect - you might end up with a profit but have you spent 2 hours to get it?
But like you say, a profit is a profit and I have to think of it as money in my bank rather than giving it away at the moment - we need it more :D ... You are all great, thanks :T

• Hi everyone.
before I carry on with my ebaying I wondered if those of you with BMs could possibly give me some advice if not tell me where to go (politely please!!)
Below is the message I posted on the GC thread on the 1st but nobody answered me - too many posts I expect and maybe not the right place?:confused:
Hi everyone,
I do so want to keep up with the thread but it is so long each day I struggle - I am afraid I am missing out on any handy tips!!
I am not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes - feel free to shout at me if I should be asking somewhere else!
I used a BM for the first time today - only had it 11 months! I want to do it 'properly' like all you good OS ladies but at the moment I am using up bread mixes that I bought when on whoopsies in Mr T's.
It turned out ok-ish - its very edible - i have had 2 slices already - not going to be good for the waistline! - but isnt a good shape - all lop sided and the outside is quite tough/leathery IYSWIM- not crusty - I dont know anything about bread making but at a guess maybe too long?? I just put it on a basic programme - is that where I went wrong or is it the style of these packet mixes - it was Wrights parmesan and sundried tomato - tastes and smells nice!!!
Any advice would be great!!:confused::confused:

I have since tried the chese and onion one on a speciality setting and it was ok in shape but again the crust allover was thick and hard/leathery - the inside is soft and moist - what am I doing wrong?

Secondly when i do start with flour and yeast type bread - where is the best place to get cheap brown flour?? I am not meant to eat white.

thanks for your help
TF xx
Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder
