  • Evening ladies.

Glad to see the weather is not too badly hindering anyone here.

serena big hugs. I am confident you will get through it and support your dad. sorry to hear you have been shaken by it.

we've flown a bit but not pushed ourselves today. I had a near miss at the kiddies party we were at- DS1 bumped into me and knocked a full cup of hot tea over me, luckily someone else was holding the baby and it only went down me and none of the other tiddlers that were running round. I had slight pinkness to my thighs when it happened but that has gone now, but i know how badly it would have hurt one of the kids.

While i was out with the boys at the party, DH did the food shop in 2 local supermarkets to make sure we could eat well on the reduced budget, and he then came home and swapped my light fitting in the kitchen so i can now see again, and replaced the bulb in the outside security light, and put the compost out. I made pizza dough in the BM, and had a kitchen sort out, but that was about it. We are both so poopered that we needed to rest a bit.

I haven't even washed the clothes that were tea-stained - guess that is on the list for tomorrow.

All i do know is tomorrow we have planned sunday lunch out at a local 2 meals for price of 1 plus kiddies play area pub as a family treat for DH's birthday - and i need to make a vat of carrot and lentil soup as it is cheap, and i need to make a chocolate cake and do some different purees for DS2. i think we will also be popping in for a visit with my parents.

Sleep tight everyone, and i hope lil-me isn't having it too rough in the rain.

    Michelle, x

:hello:Welcome to AnW's mum - I hope you had a fantastic time - it certainly looks like fun! What did you bring home for A and W?

We did have a good time thanks, lots and lots of walking! We didn't get up the empire state building as they wanted approx £40 to go up and out onto the observation deck  plus there was about a 3 hour wait and there was so much we wanted to do. The other girl who went wore a pedometer and kept track of how far we walked, one day was over 8 miles alone!!! One of the best deals was the bus tour, we bought a ticket which included uptown, downtown, ferry and night tours. It was valid for 48 hours and cost approx £26. The guides were great and very knowledgeable.

We went to Ground Zero but to be honest I was a bit disappointed as you couldn't see the area as it was all cordoned off with no viewing platform. The museum there was excellent, reading the stories made it even more real and very sobering.

I bought some funky T shirts for A &W with lil dinosaurs in a clear pouch for W and a ladybird for A plus their names done in the same style as we had done on honeymoon. They were written onto a Thomas background for W and a Disney Princess background for A. Also sent them a post card which has yet to arrive, knew I would get home first but the love getting them and they don't know about that yet.

Once I have got the pics off the camera I shall post a few more if people would like to see them.

Sending you big hugs Serena for Tuesday and will be thinking of you.

  • Poohbear59 - how awful for you, I'm so glad for you that he's OK. He was very lucky.

Nicki - and t'grampus went off with a swish of 'is tail and Jonah walked balk home to Wigan - I think of that poem every time I hear of Wigan - and there's a pier, too!

Hugs to anyone needing one at the moment. I know there are a few of you out there.

:hello: to any newbies, and welcome to the house of fun.

Forgot to say DS came home with his science results yesterday (for year 10 exams) and he got a C and 2 B's so again we are really pleased with his efforts. He's still got another year for Science but is hoping he may be allowed to do the Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology that I'm doing (but a day class, not an evening one). They have to check whether there are any funding issues as it's ESF funded, but age wise he should be OK as he has to be 18 during the year of registration.

Lil_me - thank you, it's good to be back, even if I am struggling to keep up! Lovely news about Matthew, too.

    DF?

Vanilla - err, congratulations? Maybe? Yes!:T Just got to the next post.

Pigpen - I agree about the dog and cat licensing and compulsory neutering. My cats are brother and sister and I didn't even let them out til they'd been "done", coz I didn't want any extra moggies. (Mind you, Tigger is such a woos he still doesn't go out - ever! When we first moved here, he met the Bully Ginger cat from up the road, and that was that! :o)

    Denise - loved the picture

Polkadot - what a b***h. Friends like her, you don't need, honey. And the cake is fantastic!:T I was able to see it no problem, can you add me as a friend, please! And definitely go for the competition

Mudbath - I've obviously missed something - clinic, please?

Somebody keeps mentioning the I**A word, and I love it, but haven't been for ages, so stop it, please, or I'll get upset

Valli - if you find a job like that, please let me know if there are any more vacancies! And thank you for the lovely story.

Greenbee - I'm going for Careers advice next week as I'm sick of my job and don't know what other opitons I might have

MOAM - glad I wasn't the only one who found it very emotional

Soappie - great news about your DD, and good for you, being a supportive Mum.

    Serena - extra:grouphug:to you

Finally caught up with you all! If I've missed anyone, I'm sorry. Hugs etc anyway.

Not going to post my list now, suffice to say that I managed my dailies every day, level one, and little bits of level 2 & 3 - and I've done some painting in the "soon-to-be" study. More tomorrow though. I want finish the painting so DH can do the laminate, hopefully next weekend.

Time for bed, so night all and hope you all sleep well.

Livingroom tidy, but needs hoovering - way too late now :o

Kitchen is tidy - just need to wash dishes in the morning with the breakfast ones and put the recycling out

Laundry is done, just need to do the ironing of uniform tomorrow

Another must for tomorrow is studying and getting my stuff out for Monday - I have my induction then. Need to be sorted completely as I don't know how hard its going to be to get DD in school and me into town by say, 9.50am as I've never done it before when going to the "business district" and the last thing I want is to turn up smelly and sweaty and horrible:o. Shouldn't be a problem though. Also need to phone the school about my placement again as the teacher still hasn't called me back :mad: If not, I'll have to speak to DD's head, but that would solve childcare issues as in I wouldn't need any at all :rotfl::rotfl:

    Bed time for me

boddy, just been watching the weather up your way/morpeth etc, hope you are all ok up there.

serena big sloppy hugs for you and your Dad xx

Hugs to anyone else who needs one, can't read through all of the thread on this mobile thingy as it'll zap all my bits of data I am allowed.

kaz to be honest a few have said the same thing, but it's a choice, sit in the house with the rain at home and study when I can or come here, bribe the kids with 'behave for an hour while I study and I will take you swimming/to the kids clubs etc' it's not much different. Actually possibly cheaper than being at home as I have paid £199 for 10 weeks inc electric etc we have electric hob, grill machine, heating, TV, laptop etc so it's probably saving me money too as I am not at home using electricity/gas (because we've had the heating on it's been so cold), costs me less than £5 to get here and back as close to home so it's cheaper than taking them swimming at home (it's included here) twice a day.....which they insist on if we can fit it in, I'm sure I am going to shrink because we're in the water so much.

Right, anyway, I typed this offline to save me internet time. Have been studying hard, done part of my assignment, ok a very small part but it's a start, will do some more before sleep. Up for kids club in morning, starts at 10 so plenty of time for a lazy morning and a coffee. Good night everyone xxxx I'm off to find my sleeping bag.
One day I might be more organised...........
