DD has popped round and is deliriously happy. She's been accepted on the course she wanted to take this morning. Bank of Mum  has stumped up most of the fees for her - though she says she'll pay me back... I'm really pleased for her. She's 26 and has been undecided on a career for most of her life! She's going to study hypnotherapy and counselling - on a part time basis over three years (means she can still work and pay her own way.)

    So that's some excellent news!

Thats brilliant news soappie - say congrats.png from me!! and what a lovely mum you are for helpingangel1.gif

Bit worried now as a couple of times today Ive heard what sounds like masonary falling down behind the gas fire. We have had torrential rain all day.
perhaps its chunks of soot that have been dislodged by the rain - or bits of the chimney lining - probably sounds worse as it will be echoing and hitting the metal of the fire???

hope it doesnt get any worse.

Afternoon - I can't keep up with you gabbers so i'll just say a big hello to everyone. Managed 6 treatments today and my hand doesn't hurt at all! Yeahhhh! DH went to Ik*a whilst I was working and got the wall mounted ps workstation for me. It's perfect and will keep all my work stuff together.

I'm going to go and fill the workstation and then veg out. Children want to watch x factor so we might all watch that in a bit. This work lark makes you tired! On the plus front....I had one appointment left to fill before Christmas and it's been booked today so that's a bit of guaranteed income for us.

Speak to you all later xx

Glad your hand is getting back to normal and no pain. AND you got your workstation - sounds so professional.
Fantastic news about the appointments 23_5_133.gif -just as well you didnt stay in USA!!

Just a quick catch up before I go to bed. Im working tomorrow so early night for me. keepin the cat in again tonight as weather has worsened.

Toots Have not heard anything else falling. But will get the guy who services my fire to come and take a look. Put a query on the DIY board and someone has suggested not using it till I get it checked out. That was funny before what you did with the smileys.

Mudbath Thats good about the appointments. You sorted your workstation out?

Polka You go for it. Bet you would do really well.

  • Evening everyone!
Hope people aren't too wet! Been chucking it down all day here! We went to visit brother and sister in law this afternoon for a BBQ! Poor BIL outside under brolly flipping burgers whilst we stayed inside nice and dry.

Managed to get sorted with cakes, more snickerdoodles (or sticker-noodles as DD2 calls them) and choccie chip cookies.

Now watching trash telly from other night (mutual friends) with large glass of pink wine and nice candles from Ik*a that smell of nice fresh cotton (or something similar!)

Tomorrow its off to friends sons's party and DD2 and DS are looking forward to it. Then want to get things sorted on the ironing front, ready for school again on Monday.

Feeling sleepy now - so might catch an early night! Night night!

I've popped in and out a few times today, but only just caught up with the thread. I've not felt great for the last two days, partly reaction to getting in such a state of nerves on Thursday, not helped by having a tough afternoon and nearly losing my voice, and partly because I have to go to my uncle's funeral on Tuesday with my Dad, who is obviously going to find it very upsetting. He asked me to choose and order the flowers today (my uncle lived in same town as me, my Dad doesn't) and although I wasn't terribly close to my uncle, and have only seen him half a dozen times over the past 16 years, it was still more upsetting than I was expecting.

And like Dusty and a few others on here, I don't feel very cheerful when the weather is awful and I can't get out.

Oh - enough moaning, I'm boring myself now!

I have done the weekly shopping and all the washing, and also taken DS2 to buy football boots - usually a fairly lengthy process, but went very smoothly, so I even had time to nip into Boots, and get some almost freebies and treated myself to a book from Oxfam.

:hello:Welcome to AnW's mum - I hope you had a fantastic time - it certainly looks like fun! What did you bring home for A and W?

    lil_me -I can't believe you're caravanning in this weather! Wow, that's brave!

pigpen - I'd love to hear that you're going for the course, but either which way, you'll get where you want to be in the end - hence my signature...:D I like the idea that you're having a day off and just doing the washing - what do you do on a day you want to be busy???;)

I'm now too sleepy to remember all the other flyladies I wanted to say hi to, so :hello:to all of you!

Well, ended up doing a stir fry for dinner (just me and DS - DiL is out). It was a seriously quick throw together thing - a defrosted-in-the-microwave chicken breast cut up into little chunks, some spring onions, a red pepper chopped up, some noodles and a cheapo packet sauce. Guess what DS said as he'd licked his plate clean?

"Mum, there's only one problem. When you do an excellent dinner, you never do enough of it"

Ahhh me - I can't win! There'll always be a complaint of some sort or another... I did tell him however, that his portion size was perfectly adequate for a balanced diet. I will not repeat his reply in such nice company:rotfl:

Seems the undercover photography and phone calls last night have worked wonders with the event 1/4 mile away. Or maybe it's the rain..... There's been a little bit of tiny background noise off and on today and tonight but nothing nearly as bad as it was last night. So, that's a result!

serena honey you are not moaning!!!! thats what we are here for - isnt that what you told me the other week - you tell us the problem and we offer advice - sometimes sensible and sometimes off the wall! or you just get it off your chest and we listen! I find that the 'thought' of funerals is actually worse than the reality - i am sure you will be fine and you will be supporting your dad too. I am not very good at writing the right words but just want you to know I am thinking of you and sending a huge hug!

And no the weather doesnt help at all!!!
