HI - I love avocado too! I second all Annegeddes suggestions and can I also add:

If you don't like fish/prawns, just have avocado with a maire rose sauce and shredded lettuce (sort of prawn-less cocktail if you see what I mean!:rotfl: :rotfl: ) It's abolutely scrummy!

Also, we make a salad with rocket, watercress, maybe some spinach, avocado and caerphilly or some other crumbly cheese, and have that with a sour cream and garlic dressing - drool!
  • Nice with bacon and tomato in a sandwich. Or you could try Nigella's Roquamole which was a kind of guacamole with roquefort in it. Sounded rather nice. Sometimes I just cut them in half, stone it and pour creamy salad dressing in the hole and eat with a spoon - classy me!

my ultimate avocado indulgence is an avocado smoothie.
In blender, puree 1 avocado, condensed milk, ice cubes.

    Hi chocolatepenny,

There's an older thread with some recipes that should help so I've merged your thread with it to keep all the suggestions together.

This thread might give you some ideas too:

    Avocado-in a sandwich?

    Roquemole a la Nigella

This is in Nigella Express - you mash soft blue cheese like Roquefort with the avocado and spread on toast. It's nice grilled till bubbly.
  • I bought three avocados for a quid, and realised I have none of my favourite things to eat with them (bacon or prawns in sandwiches - yum).

I have thought about making a guacamole, but have nothing to mix with it apart from a syrupy chilli sauce out of a bottle.

    Any suggestions?

I've just sliced some and sprinkled with lemon juice and salt and pepper. i can't stop picking at the slices. Why not have them like that with bread and butter ?

    Hi clareski,

There's a thread with lots of ideas for avocados that should help so I've added your thread to it to keep all the suggestions together.
