OH ok thanks no real news. Stil not smoking and didnt see any signs of secret ones whilst away. He has been lovely really. The friday before we went away I spent half the day doing nothing and crying. He was really kind and talked things through.
I think its work getting to me at the moment. Finding it tough and I handle pressure, even if its me putting the pressure on, badly. Stupid debt though means finding a less stressful job that pays the same very unlikely.:j0 -
Good luck in your quest. It'll be great to get rid of the OD by Christmas. Can you use a different bank account for the bills and spending, to keep the overdraft separate, or transfer the overdraft elsewhere? I found it much easier to make payments to my overdraft from another bank than trying to get rid of it by withdrawing less from it.
P.S. How long does it take to build a tent like that? We got one about 4 years ago - 4 bedrooms in a X shape around a central living area (£80 on Ebay!) but have never had the bols to get it out. Should I be brave and give it a go, or should I stick it back on Ebay?0 -
The tent takes about an hour or two to get up to be able to put stuff in depending on if we remamber what we are doing:rotfl: . Its the several guy ropes that take the longest to do. The first break last year it took about 4 hours before we had put it up and had almost everything unpacked. The first night on this holiday we forgot a few and it was quite noticable. Kept waking up thinking part of the tent would collapse! Its very study for a tunnel tent and I love it when its up. So much room and it doesnt leak. It may be quicker for others but with OHs bad shoulder (shouldnt be putting tents up if the docs ask we went in a caravan:o ) and the fact that Im a wuss I find it quite trying to start with.
Ref ebay tents I wouldnt trust them myself. Not everyone has bad stories but I heard enough on the ukcampsite.co.uk forum to put me off.
Not sure what to do with bank account only ever had the natwest as my main account. Used HSBC for a joint account a few years ago and it was a nightmare (mostly the OHs habit of taking money out without checking balance to be fair!). Do you think Natwest will open a second account I could spend on? Dont want to move DDs.:j0 -
Good luck with the new diary, apologies i have only flicked through a couple of extracts on last diary.
Your very well organised with all your incomings v outgoings for the next few months.
You come across as a very positive person, and someone who wants to get life sorted.
Noticed your contents ins looks high, have you used price comparison sites, or better still cashback sites.
Short term offers from Quidco the best couple are Current account and saveings account with Alliance + Leicester £70 for both, best bit is you dont need to use the accounts unless you want to.
Usual cash back sites, daily clicks.
Have you budgeted yet for xmas? xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Hi mun2zone
Thank you for your comments. Congrats on the money neutral present challenge.
£500 saved in thrift club for xmas. I always have more cash in the first six months of the year so try to save then. Should be enough and needs to cover OH, DD1 and other family birthdays.
I do do pigsback have 1942 points at the moment. Given up on the others. Waiting for £99 from Quidco thats seems to be stuck in Validated. I also do some surveys mainly valued opinions but neaver seem to qualify
Thanks for tip on A&L I will have another look. Though I needed to put a minimum amount in each month though? Will also look at Home contents. Last time I looked I got it to £12 so not worth moving with penalty clause.:j0 -
W**k today need to get of here have a shower and head out. Sometimes its good not having a set time to start but other times I find it too easy to keep putting it off.
Spends plan for the day is hopefully nowt. Will come home for lunch and prepare bulk salad for the week. Hope it comes out ok it will save about £2 a day where I am weak and head to Tescos at lunch (office right next door). It will also help on the road when inevitablly I eay no brekkie and then hit a McDs for lunch or on the way home. I have been buying multi packs of rolos which save me 20-25p a pack. A choccie bar a day is currently vital.
Plan for week: - today month end admin, finish off two reports and this evening 1 hour study please make me keep to the study Im already on an extention
Tues - out on site + 1 hour study - Kids back at school
Wed - write up + study - may need a shop to top up the 10 min Tesco dash last night.
Thurs - Study and send it off by 4.30.
Fri - catch up and prep next week.
At some point I want to do some homemade hobnobs and lemon cake to munch on.:j0 -
A KP diary I can keep tabs on! I never saw your previous one
I really don't go to the dfw list enough, just use that Uer CP button at the top
Anyway, I'm here now.
Your budget looks good - just a couple of things:
- what does "Me / OH / Kids..50 each..£150.................£150/£600" cover?
- do you actually *have* £288 after expenses? If not, you *know* what I'm going to say :rotfl: ...... its a spending diary!
Just looking at your last post too - isn't it *astonishing* how much cooking stuff saves? I'm really shocked at it, must try to do more. And I admire your strength of will to buy a multipack of chocolate and then not eat more, I wish I could do that.
Now I've got you on subscribe, I'll be able to keep up. Hope you have a good day :money: :money: :money:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
 at the comments about the Ebay tent. Oh well, it just makes it all the more exciting :rotfl:
Natwest probably would let you have a seperate account. HSBC gave us a second one with switch cards etc when we started matched betting, just for that purpose so as long as you're on good terms with them I don't see why not. If you go in and speak to someone and mildly threaten to move your banking elsewhere, they'll hopefully roll over. How about asking them to open you a new account and transfer the overdraft to the new account so you can pay it off in chunks. Keep all your DDs on the existing account, get the OD limit removed and move the debt to the new acc? Worth a try possibly.
I've all but given up on Valued Opinions too - too many screenouts for me as well. I like OnePoll as you just log in every day or so and do the surveys that are showing. They only pay a little each but they're really simple. Also Lightspeed (sign up through Pigsback) as you can claim the cash by Paypal after almost every survey.0 -
Thanks Karmacat
I must admit to relying on User CP these days as well! Thank you for subscribing.
The Me/OH and kids is a £50 a month general spends allowance. £50 for Me, £50 on various kids bits ie school trips, brownies, guides and £50 OH as I always end up paying for something or other when he runs out of cash. He is on benefits. We keep things separate after years of arguments its just easier. He gives me £100 every four weeks.
Doing a jacket spud at the moment for lunch didnt feel like pasta forgot the chicken in the trolley dash. Also in the rush to get out I forgot the rolos so 50p spent already today  I have no willpower.:j0 -
Panda
Camping can be fun Im sure you will love it. I just didnt want the though of getting wet when we planned to take up camping so got snobby with the tent choice! My luck on holiday weather is not usually good!
Need to find time to head down to Natwest in the week. I have never had a problem with them although I can see a loan being offered!
Not heard of One Poll another thing to look at after I have studyied tonight.:j0
