my sponsor has been good, came round to see me and said just ring her if i have any questions, she'll be involved as much or little as i choose. I guess she has an invested interest in helping me really which is a good idea. she is lovely too.
hope you get that coffee morning booking soon and your first sponsored person...
have u bought one of those xmas packs, i had a look on the web the otherday and cant find any, i'm thinking maybe they have sold out of certain items that were in the packs so not doing them anymore.
going to see toddler group tomorrow to take a poster.
The coffee mornings I am referring to is with the aim of a host/hostess inviting a few friends to their home, to have coffee and cards.
I did purchase a special offer Christmas pack, although these were only available to purchase during the month of August. I have sold some Christmas cards, although I still have rather a lot in stock as it is still early in the season. Now that we are starting to see Christmas advertisements, hopefully people will start taking notice of my Christmas cards. I have sold rather a lot of Christmas wrapping paper though!Thank you to all OPs

Hi, I've been a PT since April, bluffing a bit and now getting organised!
Have done a few fetes and have some more coming up.
I take 'hamper' style baskets to local firms and ask the receptionist to have it for a few days and give her 10% off her order.
I also give a basket to all my friends who work to take to work with them.
Have done some Ladies lunches and Wi stuff.
It always amazes me that no matter how much stock i have, I'll always get an order which I can't complete without swapping or ordering more!!
If you call direct you don't pay £6 or £30 you just pay postage at cost if it is a small order-20 cards to me the other day £1.67 postage.
I put ALL my cards in cellos, even ones people have ordered before I deliver them.
I believe it makes the cards look even more expensive and encourages people to bulk buy as they know they will keep beautifully.
Apart from CELLO 18 (?) for the folded gift wrap they really are very cheap. I split the paper wrap cellos with a friend who is a trader so it spreads the cost.
We all swap a lot and its fun!
I definately haven't made a profit yet but getting there-I have loads of stock though so once what i have is sold will be on the way to the bank!!
IDEAS- make a themed display on your table at a fete or section in your basket-lavender range, girls, pink, lilac, ribbon, tissue etc. Boys-red ribbon, yellow/orange tissue, boys cards and wrap, secret agent pack.
Pale blue/new england looking items.
Shopping pads sell brilliantly!!! love the new pale blue house one in Oct supplement.
Always put a Family week planner in every basket and have a few at fetes-always sell!!

postage above should have read £6 or £3 not £30!!!0

Hi Egg,
thanks for the ideas of items that sell. I am waiting for my business kit and starter pack to arrive, hope I haven't missed Christmas!
When you say: "If you call direct you don't pay £6 or £30 you just pay postage at cost if it is a small order-20 cards to me the other day £1.67 postage."
Do you mean that if you phone a small order yopu don't have to pay the set postage rate? What do you have to say to the person you speak to?

Hi, just call the number in London, give them your trader I.D.(you'll get when you sign up) and say can I place an order please! Simple! They work out at the end what the postage is.
Like I say-I needed 20 cards, it cost me £1.67 in total-not £6 (or £3 if you spend over £125)
Other idea- buy packs of 40 coloured envelopes and sets of 40 sheets of writing paper and split them into 4. So put 10 sheets and 10 envelopes in an 8x6 CELLO and sell for £1.50 (total cost divided by 4) these are great sellers by children at stalls as it's 'pocket money' prices.
Will keep thinking!!0 -
I do like everyone's ideas. I have been trying to think of ways of selling stuff too. One of my ideas involves the fact that in this area we have a huge number of care homes for adults with learning disabilities. I was thinking of asking if I could run a simple 'workshop' in them, and sell the residents a card and have peel-off greetings labels for them to stick on, you know, happy birthday and the like, to make them feel they are personalising them.
Also, I wondered whether it would be allowed (I'll have to ask) for me to sell folded inner sheets with greetings on, to stck inside the cards - I expect you have seen in some expensive cards, there's a separate folded inner leaf, like a book page stuck in, with the verse on it. I could sell those along with the card and stick the one the buyer has chosen into their card. I'd have to be careful with copyright of verses, I know.
Or else I could design a little leaflet with a selection of verses for them to use when writing their cards.
Hmmm, I need this kit so I can 'do' something, not just think!

replay back from Phoenix Trading regards to using this forum, i hope it helps some of you
Many thanks for your reply. I have double-checked with Robin Bradley, our Creative & Marketing Director, and have been informed that we are perfectly happy with this type of 'thread' as it is neither advertising the Phoenix opportunity nor covertly recruiting into your business. You are perfectly entitled to express your opinion and we have no wish to curtail this right
We would also advise you to contact your upline ET to use their greater experience for your benefit. Our business structure is to support Traders in obtaining as much information as possible from their upline. The Trader Road Shows are invaluable for putting Traders in touch with each other and their local ETs so you may consider attending one of these in January next year.
Thank you for contacting us and good luck with your Phoenix business

Hi everyone,
Haven't been on for a while - thought I would say hi and welcome to all the newbies.
I'm glad everyone is sharing tips and ideas, that was my reason behind this thread, I already checked with phoenix before I started it and that said it was fine as long as I don't try to recruit, and I plainly say that in the first post, but thankyou JD for double checking that for everyone, to put their mind at rest.
Good luck everyone with your christmas sales - busy time of year!
