    Well done to you :T

You should be able get a list of toddler groups from your local council, and then you can contact each one on the list!

Now that you have got your foot through the door with a toddler group, you can now promote your availability for coffee mornings. I put an A5 flyer in each bag with every purchase, which basically offers the hostess 25% off their order and £5 to spend on products, although it is up to you to determine the incentive. I also enclose a Freepost card (the one where you send off for an information pack if interested in joining the business) in each bag. Also, ask if they would like to be put on your mailing list.

Also, attending toddler groups may well lead to other things. I attended a toddler group at a Church last month, and of course the Church runs other events. So the person who organises the toddler group gave my details to someone at the Church who is organising a ladies evening in November, and I have been invited to attend as a stallholder.

I have not sponsored anyone yet, although really looking forward to becoming a sponsor. Also looking forward to being booked for my first coffee morning!

Has your sponsor offered you much in the way of support?

Yes indeed it is very exciting :D
:) Thank you to all OPs :)
  • when u say coffee morning and a flyer for 25% off, do you mean like WI's or charity coffee morniing or do you mean like a mum bringing in her friends for a coffee type of thing... deffinatly a good idea the flyer thing... i need some more ink for my printer,

my sponsor has been good, came round to see me and said just ring her if i have any questions, she'll be involved as much or little as i choose. I guess she has an invested interest in helping me really which is a good idea. she is lovely too.

hope you get that coffee morning booking soon and your first sponsored person...

have u bought one of those xmas packs, i had a look on the web the otherday and cant find any, i'm thinking maybe they have sold out of certain items that were in the packs so not doing them anymore.

going to see toddler group tomorrow to take a poster.
  • It's great to read other experiences. Been a trader since March, and loving it - me running my own business -can't believe it ! I've met some really nice people via Phoenix, nice company too.The product is fab. Currently doing my 2nd bag drop at my son's school, and already got some regular customers. One tip - when your feeling abit down about it all, just give out more brochures - you'll be surprised what will come back, I always am !
  • what a good idea because i guess everyone gets quiet times and thinks well, this is it... just keep the momentum going...

chocciwochidooda, your name looks familiar.. don't know why, perhaps because i love chocolate :)

As soon as i get some plastic bags i am doing a door to door drop. may need to purchase more brochures for it though.
  • Just to add to my previous post - the austalian newsletters have great tips, try March 08 pg5 ' Who do you know ?'
and May 08 pg4 'Great booking ideas'
hope I'm not breaking any rules passing these on.
  • where would you find these newsletter as i only see the british ones on the web
  • found it... had to open my eyes
  • I thought u were, your just not allowed to advertise

I'm wondering if any of you realise Traders aren't allowed to talk about PT on forums??? I found this via Google and other people will too!
    Hi,

If you look on the phoenix website, in the FAQ section, this is answered there:

"We have no objection to Traders using forums to air their views on Phoenix, negative or positive and we have no wish of trying to curtail people’s freedom to say what you like about us but we do wish to curb the unauthorised use of the internet to promote our business, product and opportunity."

In other words, we can discuss ideas and successes etc, but not formally advertise to sell the products to other internet users, or to solicit people to sponsor them.

    Rosemary
