Well it looks like I'm not going to be getting a Dell TFT monitor. Just spoken to customer care again and was told.... 'you have already been told the order has been canceled'.

    :(

Don't phone them give you that now just go round and round need to email them..................................

    Gosh I had another email:

Thank you for contacting Dell Online Customer Care.

Please accept my apologies for the difficulties encountered when attempting to resolve your issue. I assure you that your situation is not indicative of the quality service Dell is capable of providing. I am truly sorry that we were not able to provide an experience that was completely satisfactory to you.

Dell records reflect that order number xxxxxxx has been cancelled because we have failed to receive credit card authorisation. I apologize if you were not notified of this order's cancellation.

Please contact your bank and ask them to open a "window" for the amount of your Dell Order. Let us know when this has been arranged so we can then process the order. Incidentally - it'll take 7-10 working days for your order to arrive once your payment has been confirmed.

Coming closer, closer, closer and closer.........! Awaiting another email from Dell again let you know folks what happened. I am still determined my flat screen even I have cancel my order!!!!.

Just wonder what is open a window mean?. Thanks!.
  • They have given me a new order number and told me that the ETA for delivery is 16th January !!

    I told them that:

    a) I was not amused that a company the size of Dell and which relies on mail order / internet order cannot get a monitor to a customer in less than 2 months

    b) I was disappointed that other people are being told are being quoted 5-7 days for their re-order to be delivered but that I must wait for more than a month.

    c) I was suprised that as they had obviously picked and sent the wrong item, that my correct item was not still sitting in Limerick waiting for delivery.

    The answers were:
    a) Sorry, this is an exception and does not normally happen (Ha Ha)

    b) Any other people that re-ordered after me, will have their orders fulfilled after me (I re-ordered yesterday so I will be interested to see when other people get thir orders scheduled - mine is in production apparently!)

    c) No answer

He then wanted to end the call and actually asked me if I was happy with the customer support that I had been given !

Better add them to my signature now !
    To infinity and beyond!

I would use the direct online email service first - questions part:

Just been told 3-5 days for replacement order despite pointing out that it's down as 3 weeks plus on the website. They are supposed to be phoning me back with a reference number before 6:30 and a new pdf order will be loaded within 2 days.

Should it happen - The words !!!!!! and Burton's Window, spring to mind!

I think Dell are deliberately playing chicken - hoping that anyone who wants one for Christmas will bottle it and cancel. I'm on the point of buying elsewhere, but I'll still make them deliver this and sell it for what I paid - I've got a mate who says he'll probably have it.

    Dav,
I have a delivery date of "on or before 15 December" it has been sitting at production and hasn't moved since 8 December. I doubt if I will see it on Thursday! Taking a hell of a long time to press a CD, must be using one of their own systems.

Got through to Dellhi CS and got the line "this is an going problem of our carriers" - so still blaming someone else for their stock control issues. Replacements should be with me in 2 days :)

No offence in tended but... Not sure how you can get upset when it's an obvious mis-price and they could just have easily told you to go jump. This is what Dell are like but we accept the dodgy delivery date estimates and other CS screw ups for the fact they they (usually) honour their misprices. If they were really on the ball you never would have got the monitor for £132 anyway.
