Morning Tea, just caught up with the last few days whilst DD is in the shower.
I try and do the 10 items ironing, although I do have a habit of leaving DH's stuff to the end (his is bigger) so my new system will be to alternate things in the pile, then we will all get some clothes back.
Hope DH's site gets back to work, it's dreadful when accidents happen and the worst part is that most of them are avoidable, my DH works on site too and he comes home with some real tales of near misses
Have a good day.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Morning Whatatwit :hello:
DH's site not due to reopen until Monday due to the sub-contrators delaying things.
As for the ironing, I just grabbed any items I can, we don't iron the kids stuff apart from DS's uniform as their clothes tend to get creased within seconds of being worn.
Right off to put the dishes to soak and get the changing bag ready for playgroup.
Catch up later and have a good day everyone.0 -
Hi Tea - just popped over to catch up. You put me to shame with the ironing - I iron jeans below the knee, collars of shirts, if I'm in a good mood I'll also iron the bit of a T shirt you can see in the "V" of a sweatshirt .... and thats about it
Thats a great offer from the Royal Mail, by the way - I applied and was accepted, got my parcel of stuff to do and free stamps, then an hour or so after I opened it I got an email telling me they were oversubscribed for people doing the trial, please keep the stuff and don't bother doing it. Several others have had that experience too, so I hope you do! :rotfl:
Love the sound of the tapas - I must get into that, you have some good recipe ideas. I *did* have the sausage and egg thing last night, btw - wasn't enough veggies for me, so when I was steaming the tatties preparing them for a bit of a fry, I did an onion/spinach/carrot/mushroom "stew" in the pan that the tatties were steaming under, and had that as a sort of hors d'oeuvres (or horses doovres, as they say :rotfl: ). It was all great.
Okay, off now for another coffee before I go. Won't be on again, so have a good one - like you, I'm glad its Friday. :j

Afternoon all,
Was so excited, DH got a cheque for some shares that he has with Friends Provident, the dividend cheque was for a whole £5.43Not much but it can still go into the savings.
Also went to Tesco's for some Bailey's for DH for Christmas and some cheap Spanish brandy for dinner, to cook with not drink, and have noticed that the cashier didn't charge me for the brandy. It never struck me that the two bottles were so cheap. I have to admit I was chasing my two around the till at the time I paid. The thing is though...do I go back and admit the cashiers mistake????0 -
I really should have a look on the freebies board, i always forget about it.
Do not go back to tesco, they wouldnt chase you if you overpaid! I was shopping in b and q at christmas 2 years ago and was buying loads of things. the cashier was so rude they never spoke to me, never even told me the total price just pointed to the chip and pin. It was only after i put everything in the car i discovered they didnt scan the £40 hedge trimmer i was buying. they were so rude to me there was no way i was going back. you didnt take it deliberatlyDFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0 -
It’s Saturday! :j
DH has gone to work at the flying club and the kids and I are currently lounging about doing not very much
Ds appears to have picked up a cough from school that results in him making the most gawd-awful noise like he’s clearing his throat but won’t cough! Boys’ ggrrrr!!!
I worked out that yesterday I spent £19 in Tesco’s, I got a nice beef joint for tomorrow, the Bailey’s and some eggs for the tortilla for dinner last night.
My list for today is as follows:- Washing
- Iron 20 items of clothing as none was done yesterday
- Wash up as the kitchen looks like a bomb has gone off
- Clicks and surveys
- Bank to pay in cheque received yesterday
- Boots for Calpol and other bits for DH
- Order shopping online for next week
- Tesco’s – Sandwich stuff for DH for next week and dessert and gravy for tomorrow’s dinner
- Try and decide what to have for dinner tonight – cupboard raid I think
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Totally agree with Lunar - don't go back to Tesco's! DH's flying school thing does sound exciting, I love it - but shame about DS's cough, poor thing, and poor you! Sounds a good plan for today - I must find my diary sometime soon and start my day, but I don't want to yet!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Afternoon,
Haven't told Tesco's about their mistake, it's their loss I guess but did go in as planned; didn't get everything I wanted as both kids misbehaved...I'm near to linching them
The washing up has now been done and the washing is nearly finished.
DH has come home and gone to bed feeling very poorly, I think that he's caught the bug that's doing the rounds at the moment.
Didn't get to the bank either so will do that Monday.
I did however receive through the post the stuff to do the Postal Surveys thing, so fingers crossed they won't e-mail me to tell me they don't me to do it
The rest of the list today I've given up on, the kids need to burn off a heck of a lot of energy, so I am taking them to the soft play centre for a few hours. I know it is money that we can't afford but I need my sanity and I can always transfer the money out of the savings account.
Hope everyone else's Saturday is going good.0 -
Another hectic week ahead. I don’t feel very well today either, I think that I have caught the sickness bug that DH had over the weekend, hope it doesn’t last as I hate to be sick, more than anything I haven’t got time for it.
DD has what appears to be an eye infection as well as a cough so I need to take her to the Doctors this morning once DS is at school.
Here’s the latest update on the money side of things.

My list for today is as follows:- Doctors with DD
- Ring the gutter people and tell them gutter now leaking all the way across the front of house
- Change beds
- Drink tea
