Dinner has now been changed to Fajita's as we have a kit in the cupboard, although it was tempting to go and spend some money on a pizza or KFC tonight.
So today so far has been a NSDbut I do realise that if I am to complete my target I really need to pull my finger out. Tomorrow I am at the market and then Friday I have playgroup in the morning, but that is accounted for in the budget and in the evening I am at a book party so some money will get spent there I imagine.
Almost forgot, we had a phone call from our mortgage provider advising us that our fixed rate deal ends in December and she wanted to know if we want to see their advisor. Talking to DH if they are willing to drop the rate to what it is now, we'll stay with them. The mortgage company have DH's mobile number and are supposed to be ringing him to set up a time and date.0 -
Hi Tea,
just been catching up on your activities & plans. The snowball calculator is a great motivator to get debts paid off asap, I'm determined to prove it wrong about my DFD
Keep up all your good work

Hi Lula,
It is amazing that calculator isn't it? It's nice to know that what we've been doing does actually work and the date has moved in the right direction.
You are doing really well too, everytime I log on your totals changekeep it up hun.
Tea

Hiya
I love that calculator too - my debts are odd, because a lot of my interest *is* charged upfront, its the oldfashioned Rule 78 or something, plus my mortgage is interest only, and my other mortgage is in euros ... sigh ... still, I love the snowball principle.
The headaches - I have *never* found a Western doctor to be at all useful with chronic little niggles like this. I'm sure its a combination of too much time on the computer, not enough exercise and lack of sleep. Having said that, I *might* go, I dunno.
I love all the "done" bits on your list - always a good feeling. The extra work we need to do to get the debts paid off extra quick is difficult to find, sometimes, isn't it ... its all very well saying surveys etc, but they come along so slowly, and pigsback seems to have dried up altogether on clickthroughs, which used to provide something regular, at least. I tend to do my clickthroughs on ipoints now, its slow but if I don't want to think, at least I know I've done something. Quidco too, of course. I'm not looking forward to my remortgage next May - I really hope the rates are down by then.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

So true hun. I don't log on to Pigsback everyday like I used to, they're lucky if DH & I log on once a week. ipoints I can't seem to get the hang of as nothing seems to add up on my points total unless I do the polls.
The surveys are good but it's annoying getting screened out the majority of the time.0 -
Two good things have happened since I got out of bed this morning, I logged on to the forums and have found that I got a new star medal thingy
and the other thing that’s happened is that DH gave me three £2 coins which have gone in the terramundi
The bad thing is that DD was awake at 5am due to a soggy nappy, so had to change her, I did manage to get half an hours doze before she decided that being back in bed wasn’t for her…she has been grumpy ever since
On to today, the plan is as follows:- Market for fruit and veg
- Go to Boots for nappies – use points
- Go and see Cheltenham & Gloucester about our mortgage and see what deal they are offering, possible make an appointment
- Ring the conservatory people and ask where the guys were yesterday to sort out the guttering
- Sort out something for dinner

Congratulations on the star!
Soggy nappies not an awfully good way to start the day, but kind of inevitable with a two year old - commiserations.
You're with the Cheltenham and Gloucester? I was on moneysupermarket via Martin's link, and they certainly had the cheapest deal for me currently, so I hope it goes well.
See you later.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Morning Tea,
Ugh, you did have an early & soggy start
I'm having the same thing with ipoints, only seem to get them from viewing ads, trouble is a lot of their offers are great...if you're not already a quidco convert.
I too keep getting screeend out of lightspeed at the moment mainly due to a lack of interest in football recentlybut the postie delivered a parcel yesterday & when I asked where it was from he just said that " a lot of ladies seem to be getting the same one ...
then I opened it & realised it's a sample I've agreed to use for the next 3 weeks, I love freebies
.
Good luck with your mortgage haggling, catch you later
Lula x
Ps Congratulations on the new star0 -
Just me again.
I have been to see Cheltenham & Gloucester and they had two rates that would be suitable for us, however the one they did suggest would cost us £10 more per month as well as a fee; so I am going to dig out the information for this mortgage and have a look on Moneysupermarket and see what there is on offer.
Also I went to the market and spent £5.10 on fruit and veg, I also went to Iceland to get some ideas of how much cheaper some of their stuff is and ended up spending £12.00 and then in Boots as I didn’t have enough points I spent £14.27 as well as £1.40 on parking, so way too much spent this week/month
On the plus side, when we got home there was a cheque in the post for £33.43 in respect of a return premium, so that can go in the bank tomorrow and possibly moved over to the savings account
DH gets paid on Saturday but I think they pay him on Friday? Anyway as it is going to be a month then until he gets paid again, I am going to do what I can to make sure we don’t over spend again. Which reminds me, I’ve checked the online banking and although we are in the overdraft we aren’t as bad as last month or the month before, so something is working
I am also going to look at changing my car insurance and see what is on offer; through Quidco of course0 -
Hi Tea,
hmmm that's quite a spendy daybut if my rough maths is right then thanks to the cheque you just about made it break even
.
Definitely use quidco for checking out car insurance the comparison site gives you £2 just for getting quotes.
Well done on using less overdraft, it all helps & hopefully it wont be long before you dont use it at all .
Good luck with mortgage deal hunting
